Accessing the "old" website.
At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.
The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.
1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.
Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.
https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

How to get to old AC.com site?
Hi when I type aircanada.com it gets me to the beta site and I can't book a multicity itinerary; click "find" and it doesn't work. Any thoughts on how to get back to the old UI?
Thanks,
GT

So last night I was sent to the new site for the first time. It seems to work well, except that it is SOOOOO SLOOOWWWW. I keep seeing that little red airplane circle around.
Agree that many things are way too big, especially the seat maps.
I don't see a link to the classic site anywhere.

How to get out of Beta Hell?
I login, and get switched over to the aircanada beta site, I never asked for this, and then I get so many errors like the attached.
How do I get out of this, this will not let me modify flights etc etc.
talked with agent, they are not getting my problem.

beta is working for me now but I really wonder why it sends me to the beta site without asking me first. most other websites say hey you want to try out new beta site and you can click no,

Ugh, I hate when companies break the cardinal rule of development and don't offer a way to revert out of beta.
This happened recently with Indie (the multi-stop airfare planner from Bootsnall) and I had to contact their support desk to get me out of beta back to the old version. Luckily, unlike AC, Bootsnall is fairly responsive and got back to me within hours to give me a workaround.
There are many, many competent developers in Canada. AC, hire some of them, please!

I used Chrome browser, incognito/private browsing mode and it took me to the old site at the first time, but after a few clicks, when you go back to the Home page, it led you to the new site.
I find the Hotels & Cars tabs are unnecessary to me. Why would I look for hotel & car rental at AC site? I prefer "Information & Services page" tab like the old page.

I do use the AC site to book my Avis rental as it will give me extra AP miles. All the bookings still show up on your Avis account and you can also use whatever AWD you want.

While AC keeps struggling with its legacy IT, and likely a Delta-like scenario waiting to happen, here is how a CIO for another airline to9k them on the right path.
BTW the guy is moving to Airbus.

I was stuck in the Beta version last night...S-L-O-W... Tried changing seats and then checking in, what a Pain! Called in to change seats and used "in cognito" in Chrome to check in.
"InCognito" good for both porn and Air Canada

It seems to have been designed by someone who has never used a website. There is nothing intuitive about any of it.
Example: You want to sign up for flight notifications. There's no direct link, so you look under Plan. Not there. There's a link under Fly! But... it just takes you to a page telling you all about what flight notifications are. But wait! There's an inconspicuous link to set one up on the right side of the page. So, you click that. But... that just takes you to a pointless page with yet another link, which finally does take you to the relevant page you wanted.
This is asinine, particularly when you consider that most users are not going to be first timers. Don't make me have to go through all these steps every time.
How to fix it: Provide a direct link to the setup page. On THAT page, provide links for more information for people who are not familiar with the service. Simple, and OBVIOUS.
