Paid upgrade at check-in, LGA-YUL Standard (K) to J on an E175: US$178. Didn't with the rarely grateful teens in tow... No really, they're good kids and I love them,

What's the range of offers for Aerplan X ticket from YYZ to HND or NRT? Specifically for PE or J. What's considered a good offer?

Yyc-YWG. Expensive standard fare. $140 LMU offered. Not sure yet as it’s a CRA, and have an empty exit row. E upgrade option at 7 with $125 co pay. Since i have so many e ups I might just do that.

If a bid upgrade is refused, will you still get a last minute upgrade option at check-in?

Refused by the airline or the passenger?
By the passenger, yes.

I don't agree with that. AC could refuse a bid upgrade, anticipating selling the seat. AC could refuse a lowball bid upgrade and offer LMU for 2x the bid upgrade it refused. AC could refuse a bid because the flight is J0, then offer LMUs after some cancellations that occurred past T-48.

The passenger could cancel a bid upgrade and not be offered an LMU because other bids were accepted, or because the seats were sold in the interim.
