Is there some new secret tier above SE? I'm above 100k status miles for 2011 but when I log in to choose my benefits, I get this message:
"As you may achieve another Air Canada Top Tier status for 2012, you can't choose your Select Privileges for now but you will receive an e-mail inviting you to do so in early January. While we complete all crediting of Air Canada status flights flown in 2011, please ensure your 2011 Air Canada status flights have all been credited to your Aeroplan account and that your Aeroplan profile contains a valid e-mail address."
What's this other status I may achieve?

It's a sad reflection on how downtrodden we've become that there are so many comments to the effect that there only minor negative enhancements this year.
Personally, I'd like to see a few small gestures of appreciation. For example, there are 30 e-credits for crossing 100K. For many SEs that occurs later in the year, but not later enough to get the one year extension. How about extending the lifespan of the 100K credits for an additional year?

"2 000 milles bonis Aéroplan
Lorsque vous sélectionnez ce privilège, vous recevez des milles-privilèges bonis Air Canada qui concourent à l'obtention du statut supérieur Air Canada 2012."
Which mean there are statut miles...
And when you're not logged, it says "milles privilege", but in the english version it's just "miles bonis"

I also hope they have a more stringent Top Tier qualifying criteria than 10,000 BIS....
Like you have to spend $2000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain P, $3000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain E and $6000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain SE.
This way they can get rid of some free loaders (those that fly UA/CO/US on cheap fares and meeting only the very minimum 10,000 miles to obtain E or SE).

I have that too, but when you click on the "2 000 milles bonis Aéroplan" you'll have :

I see what you are seeing/saying. I wonder if AC will honour this... (sound of Whitey actively pinting in the background...)
On top off that the .pdf download in French shows the English spelling... Methinks this will be written off as a typo re-darn

The way I look at it is this. This thread was posted about 9 hours ago and we're at page 7. 9 hours after the changes were announced last year we were already at a huge number of posts (almost all negative).
EDIT: Never mind, 9 hours in last year there were only 9 pages of posts, the huge backlash started a little while later.

I honestly doubt that SE would be raised. UA, DL, US, AA, LH group, etc. all have their top tier (SE equivalent) at 100K. I would be very surprised if they wouldn't raise the requirements for E though. Even ET (the newest *A member with a limited network) has the Gold level set at 50K.
