Well, I value AE miles at 1.5cents max., so your choice is between miles worth $37.50 or getting MLL passes for $6 each. I´d definitely choose the MLL pases as I always find some family/friends who can use them, but if you don´t know anybody you may as well take the miles.

It was status miles last year so I'm going with 6 ML passes and they may end up usless paper

Looks like they will also preview the 2013 programs and perhaps new 2013 qualification requirements.

Our 2013 program

By the end of December 2011, we’ll be announcing details about the 2013 Air Canada Top Tier Program, including:

Some key program changes
Qualification criteria for each tier level
Overview of the benefits
Keep an eye out for an e-mail from Air Canada, visit aircanada.com/toptier2013, or follow us on Twitter @ACTopTier

So this means when I fly ANA domestic in Japan again, I will not get the additional 250 status miles?

For example:

Oct 6 2011 ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS XXX Fukuoka (JP) - Tokyo Haneda Apt (JP) 250 miles

Oct 6 2011 ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS XXX Fukuoka (JP) - Tokyo Haneda Apt (JP) 500 miles

Just want to understand of that is the meaning.

Note that those 1,500 status miles are for the total of status miles and not listed as part of the required 10,000 AC metal status miles.

Wierd subj: Test C002 EN XXXXXXXXX: Confirmation of your 2012 Select Privileges

Selected my privileges, though the confirmation email had the following subj:

Test C002 EN XXXXXXXXX: Confirmation of your 2012 Select Privileges

Yet another rushed project I presume

(XXXXXXXXX was my AP number)

in the past if you flown 1000 status miles on ANA you get an additional 50% bonus miles (500 regular miles).....

But AC Codeshared NH has been enhanced..... ANA booking class now earns 70% only..... less the 50% bonus.... so great.... 80% in earning mile reduction (30% status miles reduction)!

Brutal. What is going on there? Not worth it to fly NH and put points towards AP. That reduction is major. Curious to if this was an NH or AC decision.
Guess we find out in the coming year. NH has been tight with award tickets but I thought they were doing better than JAL.

Sounds like a revamp for 2013, should be interesting...

I couldn't get past the luggage tags to confirm my selection. Will try again later

With this advance notice that the 2013 program will change, including... the qualification criteria for each tier level.. does it not make sense to wait for that news (at least for some of us who are cutting it close) before choosing the 2012 benefits and possibly make the wrong choice by not choosing status miles for example?
I am glad there has not been any devaluation of this year's program but this advance notice sounds ominous...and pregnant with bad news.

Nice little bonus on the day I dragged my sorry corpse into Prestige. Now all I need to do is find flights where J is empty...oh.
