You did better than me.

My Welcome amenity and VIP welcome at Mercure Grand Jebel Hefeet, Al Ain yesterday.

Mercure hotels always push the boat out.

Did however eventually get an upgrade to a nice Suite after having to ask and reception getting special approval from the hotel manager. Hotel is currently running very low occupancy, my estimate significantly under 20%. Still negotiating for a welcome drink voucher

Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial

No welcome card from the GM, which kinda sums up the place.

Not 100% sure how to decipher this - maybe they give the old kettles to the non status guests

What the .....? And why point out that the kettle is "complimentary"? I have yet to find a hotel that charges for kettle use

We (FTers of the Accor forum) should give awards for welcome gifts and this hotel will earn for sure the Platinum award

As far as I know, most ibis hotels in CEE countries don't have kettles at all.
So a "complimentary" kettle set in Budapest is an improvement, even if the text sounds a bit odd.

(Last year a friend of mine stayed at one of the ibises in Cracow in a room with a kettle. He was even given a small box of sweets.)

I had the exact same welcome gift as you at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul this week.
