Willow Stream Opens New Spa at Fairmont Pacific Rim

The new 15,000 square foot Willow Stream spa, located in the luxurious Fairmont Pacific Rim, has opened its doors and is poised to be an oasis of serenity for Vancouverites and visitors alike. Located on the hotel's fifth floor, surrounded by stunning city and harbor views, the new spa boasts a diverse menu of signature treatments and salon services, along with a team of highly trained therapists that will leave guests feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
In keeping with the Willow Stream philosophy, the four elements are represented through aromatherapy (air), textured ledge stone walls (earth), fountains (water), and inset candles (fire) that illuminate treatment rooms. The element of wood is profiled through the use of teak, symbolizing the historical significance of Vancouver as a port.
Two of the private relaxation lounges have cozy fireplaces while the third, reserved for men is club-like in its d?cor and has an oversized television, newspapers and wood-paneled d?cor. Other spa offerings include a mani/pedi room, nine spacious treatment rooms including a couples' suite with a Japanese-style deep seated soaker tub, steam rooms, experiential shower, a full fitness centre, and a movement studio. French doors open to private outdoor landscaped terraces for men, women, and couples to relax and unwind before or after their spa experience.
Treatments, a full sixty or ninety minutes, take place in rooms that bring the outdoors in with soft color palettes of sand and blue-gray. The air is softly scented with a hint of pine, reminiscent of a day in the forest. Fluffy terry bathrobes and slippers cocoon guests during their spa journey, with soft linens and oversized duvets used to tuck spa goers in. Ideal for groups or pampering parties, book clubs and showers, guests can also enjoy lifestyle cuisine while they relax in the spacious venue.
Offering a range of spa options, the new Willow Stream features treatments that are designed to highlight the local flavor of Vancouver by utilizing truly Canadian products such as maple and Saskatchewan clay. In addition, Willow Stream Spa offers specialized treatments for mothers-to-be, for men only, and for couples.
Signature treatments include:
• Destination Rejuvenation: Air travel, dry air, time differences, lack of sleep and no exercise can leave air warriors feeling exhausted. This treatment helps provide a sense of relaxation pre or post travel to help travelers restore their balance and energy. A choice of 60 or 90-minute medium pressure massage uses essential oils like lavender to regulate sleep, hydrate skin, relieve tension headaches and restore energy.
• The Great Canadian Facial: A facial and chemical peel, this spa experience begins with bathing the skin in BC glacial water followed by a customized high performance peel with a choice of alpha beta, lactic, glycolic or enzyme peel. This step removes dead skin cells and increases cellular turnover to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Then a soothing mask using clay from the nearby province of Saskatchewan hydrates the skin and is followed by a maple-infused facial massage.
• Maple Sweet Body Treat: A 90-minute experience, this is great for dry skin and helps relieve muscle tension. A mild exfoliation with a maple sugar scrub improves circulation and nourishes parched skin. A massage follows, and then a rich cocoa and shea butter wrap to leave skin soft, smooth and hydrated.
• 60-minute Post Game Facial: Designed exclusively for men who enjoy being outdoors and challenge their skin with the elements. This therapeutic treatment begins with a deep sea-foaming cleanser that repairs and protects skin, and is followed by a cleansing clay mask. A stimulating exfoliation to remove dead skin on the arms, hands and feet is performed, with a revitalizing massage to help relieve tension after a stimulating day outdoors.
• VanActive Feet for Leg and Foot Recovery: An invigorating lower leg and foot treatment that begins with an exfoliation to wake up tired tootsies, followed by a leg and foot massage with cooling essences of rosemary, menthol, pine and lavender for fresh feet and legs. A perfect pick me up for active individuals spending a lot of time on their feet, or for runners and hikers exploring Vancouver's Stanley Park or Grouse Mountain, commonly referred to by locals as "Mother Nature's Stairmaster".
• Coastal Mountain Body Wrap: A rich and hydrating body wrap begins with a warm mixture of maple butter, cocoa and shea butter is massaged into the skin. Then a warm body wrap allows nutrients to penetrate dry skin and relieves sore muscles.

This isn't a place you can compare to Banff anytime soon if you're just paying to get in. The prices are much lower then at the Banff Springs though...

Ughh! I am going to Vancouver in June, because I will need a vacation after my CFA exam, and mostly because I have 2 free nights at a Hyatt expiring June 30, 2009. I just want to stay at the pacific rim though! I wish I could just trade my 2 free nights at Hyatt for the equivalent of 2 nights at pacific rim Wouldn't mind that signature suite! We will definately be checking out williow stream while in town though.

Unfortunately the gf is summering at a law firm this summer, so we only have the weekend. I guess I could ship her home and stay a few extra days

Having said that, the Hyatt at YVR has nothing special to write home about. Forget about the free nights and stay at the Pacific Rim!

My wife and I got in today and are having an amazing time at FPR. 1st class hotel with 1st class service. I will post details on my trip after our weekend here but I can easily say that this place will be my 'go to' place whenever I'm in Vancouver. Only here 2 nights and wish it was 10 days - lol!

Awesome pictures!! Thanks so much. Well, I am pretty tempted to just let my Free Hyatt nights go to waste and book 2 nights here. Did you get the suite through an u/g cert through general rez, or go to GM?
