Hilarious that people can say the video sucks or is annoying when only 16 seconds are being shown and the full video has yet to be released.

I was only commenting on those 16 seconds, and it was annoying to watch. Making no judgements about the whole video as I have not seen it. Don't read more into a statement than is there. I only said "that" was annoying to watch.

I just hope they can cut the length by 30-40%...the current one seems to just drag on way too long.

And while this one may be "trippy" with the mirror/kaleidoscope effect I hardly think that'll be in the final product. Often when I'm working with clients and will do a teaser/preview edit I'll add some effect or another for the 10-20 seconds that isn't indicative of the final product.

What are you talking about? Profit from a safety video? I'm all for the company auctioning off interesting experiences in exchange for boatloads of miles... not my cup of tea but obviously some people see value in it...

I agree. I didn't find it annoying at all, and I'm going to wait until the whole video is available before passing judgment.

Absolutely. A little under 5 minutes. Succinct, professional, and they get points for actually having different videos (with different employees) for every aircraft. IPTE 747 is the best video, and yeah, the first 8 seconds I will forever associate with the "good days" of 3-class p.s./United First:

I always liked the "Ta-Dah!" Pentagram spot for Ted:

Fun fact! That 16-second video is also part of the opening video at Burning Man next week.

New safety video trailer is on YouTube now:

I've been bugging them on social media to let me play a passenger who learns to fasten a seatbelt for the first time, but looks like I need work on my persuasiveness.

Holy crap, the scene where the FA is floating in front of the Skydeck Ledge. I would have loved to see how they shot that (and how the FA didn't crap her pants).

Of course the golf cart would be using United's painful Economy Slim seats.

Ha! Actually made me chuckle.
Though I would have dropped the "small" in "coming soon to a small screen in front of you".

OMG - the FA poking up from the skydeck was hilarious.

The end credit gave us some clues on the locations where the new video was filmed:

  • Executive Producer Wes Minster Sir Nessie Sam & Fran Sisco
  • Produced by Skylar Dekk
  • Written By Scott Lands & Leigh Ma & Hana Lulu
  • Directed by Theodore Markey

The first golf cart that appears actually looks like it has GlobalFirst seats...
