I second this! I had to look twice and then pause the video to catch that. FWIW, I kind of liked the trailer.

New teaser for the video from @United Twitter account. Apparently the characters all have names like Frankie the selfie obsessed llama and smoking dragon.

Fun new teaser.

In the 3 golf cart shots the one parked is GF, the 2nd one looks like the leather slim line and the 3rd with just the headrest is GF.

I like where they are going with the safety videos. Nice to see some creativity and originality.

Golf cart going out of control...seat belts?
Fireworks dragon...no smoking?
Penguins...life vest?
Llama...no spitting?

Should we take bets?

The preview of the new safety video was shown yesterday during the pre-flight videos. Still being hyped as coming in fall.

Oh my god, it's just a safety video. Since when did every airline in this country start to competitively pimp out their safety videos? Just have an FA tell us how to buckle our seats, find the exit, and jump down the slide and call it a day.

Not longer than the competition or their previous videos.

Its about 10 seconds shorter than the IPTE 747 pmUA safety video posted earlier. (4:34 vs 4:44)

DELTA's current video runs at 6:08
(Its longer than the current UA video by about 1 minute 33 seconds.)

VX's safety video runs slightly longer at 5:00

I haven't found an official video on AA's youtube channel so can't speak to UA.

Did it replace Jeff's video or showing all 3?

Corporate Communications probably needs heavy lead time thus it won't get much attention over doing what current procedure is. The temporary embarrassment isn't worth the additional labor & procedure & most of all: cost.

United Airlines suddenly delays debut of new and offbeat inflight safety video

New video was slated to start tomorrow...

But a United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) spokeswoman today said the video's unveiling won't start happening now until Sept. 30. " They are still doing some editing on it," was all she would say.

United's widebody Boeing 767 aircraft are expected to get the inflight safety video first, with the rollout across the rest of the United fleet occurring over the course of about two weeks.

The spokeswoman declined to say whether the abrupt appointment of Oscar Munoz as United's new CEO just two week ago may have been a factor in the decision to push back the release date. Munoz replaced Jeff Smisek, who resigned because of allegations he might be linked to a federal probe of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Not sure when we'll see it on the planes yet. I don't fly again until Friday so maybe aligned with the beginning of the month?
