To answer my own question, it was right there in the FAQ:

Can I look up information about old flights with the automatic flight information?
No, the information comes from current time tables. Data about aircraft and registration is saved for 16 days.

Thank you for the info. It is not really surprising given the huge volume of information it would represent keeping years of flight history

Hi all - I'm trying to clean up my flightdiary a bit which goes back about 6 years. I also notice it screws up flight duration (probably due to winter/summer hours) for older flights.
What is the best way to go about correcting older flights? Are there other resources besides flightstats, and is this last one a good source to correct take-off / landing times, tailnumber, aircraft type?

Welcome any suggestions.

And one more question - do you guys use the ACTUAL departure and landing time, or the SCHEDULED?

I think it's a massive deficiency that it doesn't have a place for both. I store real (flight) times in it, but keep both scheduled and real times in a text file to be able to calculate which airlines are most reliable.

I guess this shows how we each use it.

Until about a year ago, I didn't even bother with flight numbers (that was before they were required, and before the flight number auto-populated the airport codes).

I don't really care a ton about that whole second screen (not terrible, but not especially useful).

That third screen, where they want you to review, and you have to scroll down - now that should go away entirely.

I do complete the second screen, but agree on not using the third one. It's basically just another click..

Anyone know how to get a "new" airline added to FlightDiary? I have thus far not been able to add any WOW air flights, since it thinks WW is 'bmi baby'...

I've tried their contact form, as well as twitter, as well as email. 0 reply in months. Is FD even maintained anymore?

They never respond.
I tried getting an airport added (YPW) with no luck.

Yes, especially infuriating as their FAQ states:

I can't choose a specific airport, airline or aircraft. What can I do?

Please contact us and we will add it to our database as soon as possible.
I was hoping maybe they'd have a presence on FT... guess not.

So . . . if none of us know who owns this and it doesn't get updated, we should all be backing up our data regularly.

Settings -> Export

I'm doing mine now.

Yep, I do mine regularly...

It's a shame I haven't found a site I like as much, yet.

If they wanted to charge a nominal fee ($10/year?) I think plenty of us would pay.

I contacted Fredrik a few days back. He claims big things are happening to flightdiary beginning 2017.
Let's see what happens.
