The more i read the more i wonder now if Phuket is right for us. Although maybe with the right resort it would still be nice for a few days before moving on to another part of Thailand. How you guys feel about the Trang? Looking for a little more peace and quiet to go with scenic natural beauty. Ko Muk looks really nice but I wonder how hard it would be to get there? Also there is an Anantara resort (Si Kao) in that area too.

PS: SHould I move the second part of my question to another forum since it is not Phuket related?
Piece and Quiet? Go to Khao Lak! Fly into HKT, and take a taxi north (1,800thb).

Family trip to Phuket

I need advice on a family trip....
We have 6 adults and 6 kids ...
My sister lives in Singapore, so we are starting our vacation there, then want to do one other 3-4 day trip.
We are thinking about Phuket.
We like nice beaches
Snorkling/Scuba diving
Site seeing
Boat rides
Cooking classes!

Kids ages: 10, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16

SPG Plat, so thinking Le Meridien Phuket would work for us. 5 rooms

Would love any advice!

Oh and traveling during Christmas/New Years holiday ... only time that would work for both families.

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have a stay booked for the new Ocean Wing at Amari Phuket? It opens June 1st. We have a booking in September and would love to hear what people think of it.

Watch out for mandatory (and expensive) Xmas and NY dinners!
If you want your children exposed to Russian women with skin tight dresses and 8" stilettos accompanying fat men - the LM is the place

Red Mountain is a nice course. We filmed an episode of a golf & lifestyle travel program there last year.

Built in the hills where all the old tin mining took place a century or so earlier, central to the main part of the island.

If you're staying up in the north of the island, Blue Canyon or Mission Hills are good bets.

Good Scuba Company / Suggested Dive Sites

I'll be traveling to Phuket for a few days in August and want to spend at least one day, possibly two, Scuba diving. I'm looking for a tour operator or guide that has good knowledge of the local dive sites.

I have used Sub Aqua several times. First class operation.

I have also used Phuket Scuba Club as well. Great experience here as well.

Any suggestion on the Dive Sites? I would rather see a great deal of sea life as opposed to a possibility of seeing something rare in my dive selection choices. Furthermore, would I be safe in assuming my Dive Master will understand English?

Hello , can someone recommend a boat tour company in phuket. My family of five will want to see phi phi island and the caves and all of that... I want something reputable, reliable, safe and on the nice side. Though it gets high ratings on tripadvisor, I dont like the look of Two Sea Tours. Unless there is an overwhelming recommendation of it here. Thank you.

We did the Phi Phi Islands tour with F1 Cruises from Phuket:

They were great!
