We've had two very poor meals (both groups of 10-12), neither with good service, at Delmonicos (including being overcharged $100 for wine). We will not go back.

Our preferred is now Envy. Great food, nice atmosphere, great staff... an all around quality experience I have no problem paying for (and reasonably priced, too!).

Maybe so, but don't discount the bargain basement steak/prime rib specials. I had a great $9.99 t-bone steak dinner (with a pint of beer) at Terribles. And while food is highly subjective, I felt the quality was much better than the $39 fillet at Delmonicos.

Great Steak

Delmonicos I seem to enjoy more sitting at the bar.
Had meals there many times. But the ones at the bar
with a date are the best memories. More relaxed.
Service at the bar is sooo good. Always nice people.
Hang at the bar area and wait for a counter seat.
Worth it !!!

Craftstake at MGM is right there too.
Charlie Palmer good. But not great for the $$$.

Don't know why you want to spend so much. A relaxed place with a good (not the best in all of Las Vegas) steak is the Outback Steakhouse. For about $20 you can get a very good 9 oz. filet. For another $8 you can get 6 excellent coconut shrimp. The two do nicely to share with a friend or spouse (split the potatoe and salad too, recommend the ceasar for no extra, average but better that the house salad). A satisfactory wine to have with this meal is a Shariz by Black Opal, perhaps another $20 or so. This Australian wine will help you get into the mood of the themed chain. You will not feel stuffed, but very satisfied. You be out about $60, about 1/3 to 1/4 what you might expect to pay at one of the other suggestions, more to your question.

Outback serves USDA Choice cuts that taste "treated" to me. There is no comparison between that and a USDA Prime Dry-Aged piece of meat, imho. That being said, I'm not always a steak snob - i've been to our local Outback numerous times - It's just not the experience I'm looking for in Vegas. To each their own.

Jerry...

You might want to check these out (both I've been to, are very good and are generally in the Smith & Wollensky's price range... not mucha fan of S&W anyway

The Steakhouse at Circus Circus - according to reviews among the best in Vegas. The only thing this link does not provide is a menu with pricing but I"m guessing on scale with most Vegas steakhouses:

http://www.circuscircus.com/dining/steakhouse.aspx

Sorry, didn't see BiggyguyinPasadena also talked about this place.

There's also Binions Ranch Steakhouse in downtown Las Vegas which has been mentioned here with the awesome view of Las Vegas. (I remember this palce as the Binion's Horseshoe steakhouse)

http://www.binions.com/main.htm?steakhouse

Click on Menu which opens up as a PDF file.

Steak prices range around 30-35 dollars but come with vegetables and choice of potato. Their Lobster Bisque is among the best I've had.

Have a good "Steak Do."

outback ??? why not try sizzler, too?? please, don't make me laugh. outback does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same thread as the rest of these places.

as for binion's, it is a sad story. used to go there all the time - it was quite the deal many years ago when benny and his family ran the joint. but it just deterioriated over time. have not been there in the past 2 years so i don't know if it got a facelift recently. but why bother when there are so many other "sure things" listed above?

Ballys Steakhouse is widely regarded as the Best Value and not overpriced on The Strip.

If you must do Outback, do the one on the strip, in Casino Royale I believe. They have a special menu with better steaks (supposedly in an attempt to compete with all the surrounding steak houses), and higher prices of course, but the steaks are better than their usual fare.

I agree. For a special Vegas meal. Outback is not the place.
You can do that at home. Everything is frozen like Sizzler.

Another idea. Only had a quick meal there once. I think a couple years back.
Gallagher's. Its in NY.NY. Has all sorts of dry aged prime steaks hanging in a display out front of the restaurant.
Anyone else been here recently that can make a good/bad review ?
I remember the place was jammed. But the service and food were good.
This was one of those late night meals when I was already a little
fuzzy from a "long Vegas day". The steak was good. Sides were excellent.

I would suggest getting off the strip and going to the Golden Steer. http://www.goldensteerlv.com/index-main.htm It is just west of the strip on Sahara - gives IDine points - and has been serving "The Best Steaks on Earth" for about 50 years.

Another long time steak house is Bob Taylors Ranch House. This is located fairly far north on I95 to Ann. Then just one blocks east to Rio Vista and north a couple of blocks from there. http://www.bobtaylorsranchhouse.com/

Both websites have menu's to look at in advance.

Sorry that is not correct. There are plent of locals places off the strip that have good steaks/steak house experience.
Del Friscos Golden eagle
Golden Bull
Hanks at the GVR
T'bones at the Red Rock
Many others-Las vegas is HUGE and has lots of fine off strip restaurants.
