Please post your Ambassador experiences (Archive Thread 2014)
I've read a lot experence on RA benifit but seldom on Ambassador experiences. So I'm thinking to start a thread to post Ambassador experiences:
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
- How are the rooms?
- How is the exec. lounge?
- What was good and what was bad?
- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

How to post
1. Put the name of the hotel in the title of the post
2. Use the following format by extracting it, ie by using "reply quoting", copying the content into memory, then backing out of "reply quoting" and then pasting the copied content into a new post. I've formatted each line so that you can paste in between them having deleted these opening comments:

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Plat Ambassador
Were you happy with the hotel?
Yes
Which room did you book and what upgrade did you receive?
2 DOUBLE BDS CLUB INTERCONTINENTAL LEVEL
upgraded to... Premier Suite - 1 KING BED 2 ROOM SUITE
How are the rooms?
Great! View was facing the CN Tower & spacious. Nice floors!
How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent the Club Concierge folks were great and very helpful!
Food was good and as well as the view, pretty much the same view as my room.
What was your welcome gift?
A small box of cup cakes (3 cup cakes were too small for the box and it was mushed)
Did you receive fruit and water in the room?
Yes, with apple, orange and grapes.
What was good?
Service in the lounge and room, view and location!
Recognized my status.
What was bad?
Since it was NYE it got very loud and "random" people around.
Went to check out the spa floor and since its at the lower/cheaper floor lots of ghetto groups in one room, not to mention it smells pot and the hallways were very dirty, bottles and papers everywhere.
Also I notice some mold in the vents!
Value for the money? Would you return?
Since I booked the Club Room it was slightly expensive but it was worth it.
Yes I would return, this is my hotel of choice if I visit Toronto, but if I go on a budget I would take one of the Holiday Inns.

Not really.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked "Luxury Suite" on points. Received "Luxury Suite" on a high floor (32), which is fair enough given that it was a points booking. The floor plan gave me the impression that our "Luxury Suite" may have been a little larger than some others nearby.
How are the rooms?
Very tired. It's clear that this hotel is now 15 years old (and wouldn't have seemed even vaguely modern, stylistically, when it was new.) There are not enough lights to illuminate the room.
What was good and what was bad?
Nothing was especially good, although we did get a decent bowl of fruit.
The bathroom TV didn't work. They had the smallest bath towels I've ever seen in a property categorised above 2* level. No slippers. No turndown service. There were crumbs and oatmeal on the carpet when we checked in and one of the bins hadn't been emptied. There was a visible layer of dust on the desk.
There was no remote control for the DVD player and it took over 24 hours to get one, by which time five (!) different people from "Facilities" had been to take a look and three different people had called to tell us we didn't need one.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
It was reasonable value during a busy week in Las Vegas (CES). We were not charged a resort fee but staff at both check-in and check-out seemed to find it strange that it wasn't on our bill. My best guess is that our booking predated their most recent policy change, which (as far as we could tell) seems to be that the fee is no longer optional.
Would you return?
No. There's a lot of choice in LV and this property did nothing to make us feel welcome or wanted.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Were you happy with the hotel?
Yes.
Which room did you book and what upgrade did you receive?
Stayed for a Saturday night on the Christmas special £125 rate.
Booked a classic room, received a one-level upgrade
How are the rooms?
Comfortable room with good bed. Well equipped with things that might be needed during the stay, including an umbrella in the wardrobe
How is the exec. lounge?
I didn't have access and didn't ask
What was your welcome gift?
A box Deans Shortbread biscuits
Did you receive fruit and water in the room?
4 apples and large bottle of water
What was good?
Good location
Quickly checked in with no fuss
Seemed to be a good selection of eating places on site, although I didn't use them
Granted 4pm checkout with no issues
What was bad?
Could have done with a hotel information book in the room, as is common in many hotels
Wasn't given an Internet access code when checking in, although when I asked this was given without fuss (good speed of Internet)
Value for the money? Would you return?
Would stay again, but would depend on the rates or strategic use of the Ambassador weekend voucher, as London is full of options
