I'm here this coming Monday for my annual Thames walk, I've booked a king guest room on a cancelable booking as this will only happen if the weather is very good....already been upgraded to a j.suite.
I have requested a very early check in and happy to forfeit any upgrade so I doubt I will receive it when I turn up at 8am, the walk starts at 10-30am and I will need to sauna and shower before..........last year I got upgraded to exec and downgraded to deluxe upon arrival due to 8am check in and that's totally understandable ......will report back!

Arrived 6-05 AM, approached concierge to ask if I could park car in garage, he asked me if I wanted to check in, yeah great I said , I just thought it was a bit cheeky to try so early but no problem he said......I'm escorted to FD and I'm checked in and upgraded to a suite on 4th floor!.....wow that's service !.....very happy......I managed to an hours rest before I start my day...bonus!.
Bed very comfy ( super king ), two robes in room , clean and no issues.
Bathroom now has mouthwash but I noticed the massage soap bars are missing.
Now in lounge having a bonus breakfast, it's empty.....just me in here....hotel appears very quiet....now gonna go have a sauna and then prepare for my Thames walk.
I will miss afternoon tea as I will be out all day and back around 7pm tonight where I will report on tonight's lounge offerings.......

......got back around 7-20pm.....knackered!.....10.4 mile walk......went to room , and had a bath, I usually sauna and shower but after consuming a few beers on my walk I thought best not.
Bath is big with plenty of leg room ( I'm 5-11 ) and I love the idea I can listen to tv whilst in bath via an overhead speaker.
Now in lounge, it's very quiet, perhaps 5 people here....

CANAPÉS - pea and spinach tart - pork rib and rice - crudités- cheeseboard ( no crackers...boooooooo ) .

BEERS - Asahi and Heineken.

Spirits - jack Daniels - baileys - gin - port - brandy - Tekela

WINE - red, white and prosseco.

.......not really hungry. Had some food in Greenwich before I returned, did sample the pork but very dry and hard.....not a lot to report really, just sitting here with a baileys looking at the sunset...kinda pleasant I guess .....will retire soon and will repot back in morning.

Guys!.....I now know why the hotel is so quiet, it's because everyone was in the gym!......jeez there must have been 15 in there at one point, it's only a small gym and was very crowded, not seen it like this before, managed half hour on the treadmill.......sauna however was quiet and empty as usual.....steam room a waste of time, tepid .
Breakfast was really good with great service, it was quiet and this was around 9am....... ordered an omelette, this arrived just as I was finishing my musli.....they have changed the orange juice too , it's now pure with bits.....gone are the Nutella muffins but some interesting cherry juice now in its place
Finished with coffee in the lounge, I was the only one in there!.
Went for a walk around the shopping centre and checked out around 11-30am........swift and no issues with bill.

CONCLUSION- it's a different hotel during the week!, yes it's more expensive but I can't help but think the service is more professional than at weekends. Everything was with a handshake and felt genuine, I was upgraded to a j.suite and it was ready at 6am ( I did request a very early check in ) ...... credit due, I felt very looked after....happy!

ROOM NO - 405

NEXT PLANNED STAY - Doubletree Greenwich ( 24/7/17 )

Not me mate, I don't stay as often as I used to and when I do it's normally midweek as the lounge is a zoo at weekends, that said I've not stayed weekends for a long while but I'm assuming they are still doing the cheap executive upgrades to everyone at weekend's ? Hence making the lounge more like a McDonald's on a Saturday afternoon.
However , I shouldn't be negative and my last stay was very good ( see report ) and I hope you have a pleasant stay......mandc may be there but I think he stays mostly at doubletree Greenwich these days.

Thanks! Actually I stayed on a Friday to Monday a couple of weeks ago and it was very civilised - no sign at all of huge upgrades or abuse.

Well that's what i like to hear, about a month back I recommend the hotel to a colleague and he took his wife there, it was a Saturday night and he booked an executive room ( blue status) ........Monday I called him and asked about the lounge being rowdy, he said it was half full , quiet and pleasant atmosphere.......maybe they no longer do the cheap upgrades?.... let's hope so.

Unfortunately it's like a Zoo here, loads of families with kids. Much quieter during the week but more expensive. Good service so far

I'm thinking of doing a Saturday stay at this hotel in August after a long-haul flight.

Points-wise, but also cash-wise, the Hilton Canary Wharf is the cheapest hotel out of the following:
- Hilton London Bankside
- Hilton Tower Bridge
- Hilton Canary Wharf

I'm quite comfy being a bit out of the way in Canary Wharf, but wanted to get your thoughts based on the reviews above.

Which of the hotels listed above is least likely to have an uncomfortable lounge environment during the evening drinks on a Saturday (i.e. crowded, noisy, kids aplenty)?

P.S. I likely won't venture much outside the hotel because I'll be using the hotel as a place to sleep after a long-haul, and before my onward journey the next day (I'm aware of the LHR hotels but I'd like a a hotel more in London than LHR in case I change my mind and want to meet up with a friend).

I think any hilton lounge is a roll of the dice regarding noisy environment on weekends, however CW lounge suffers from this a lot, you may get lucky?.....one thing I will say about CW is I've never had a bad nights sleep due to noise, I often request room 205 , the potential for noise is huge ,next to gym/sauna and lift but the rooms appear insulted and I never hear a thing......if good sleep is priority then that's the best hotel
