- What are the most current working links?
- Is this card churnable?
- How frequently can I apply for these cards?
- Do I have to close my previous card before reapplying?
- I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?
[1] What are the most current working links?
There is a standard offer for 50K points after $1K spend in 4 months. (No landing page is available for this offer; lnik taken from wiki for http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/citi-...amex-citi.html.)
There are no known 60K offers available. The most recent one expired in late September 2014.
[2] Is this card churnable?
In the past, this card has been easily churnable. However, in December 2014 Citi began inserting language into some applications and landing pages disqualifying current Hilton Visa cardholders & requiring an 18-month wait from the date of the previous card's cancellation. The application link listed above does not include this restriction, and FTers have confirmed that they have been approved through this application despite being current or recent holders of another Citi Hilton card.
[3] How frequently can I apply for these cards?
You can only apply for ONE Citi card in a week or TWO in two months (60 days). To be safe, it is frequently suggested to wait 8+ days between ANY two Citi applications and 65+ days until your third Citi application of ANY kind. These are rolling dates, so you have to wait at least 60 days (65+) from your second application to your 4th applications, and so forth.
If math is not your strong suit, you can use: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html.
Example:
Day 0 - Citi HHonors Card #1
Day 8 - Citi AA Personal Card
Day 65 - Citi AA Business Card
Day 73 - Citi HHonors Card #2
Day 130 - Citi TY Card
[4] Do I have to close my previous card before reapplying?
Not if you use the application link above. As stated above, in December 2014 Citi began introducing new application pages requiring an 18-month wait since cancellation of the prior card.
Note that when you close an account, Citi may not "free up" the credit limit from that card for as long as 6 months. So if you're going to apply within 6 months, it's better to not cancel beforehand.
[5] I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?
There appears to be a problem with Citi crediting you with both bonuses but Hilton not crediting the second bonus because their system sees it as a duplicate.
You need to open up a case, preferably with Hilton, and explain that you have two separate cards (feel free to explain one is for business and one for personal if they ask why you have multiple cards and you feel like explaining). You also need to diligently check back with them and make sure that they do not close the case as you already got the bonus.
This is very much a YMMV situation. Depending on who you talk to and where, this can be a relatively short process or a particularly unpleasant and long one. Best advice: Be nice to the CSRs and get them on your side or HUACA until you find someone useful.
For some people it may be worth getting the 50K card instead, possibly trying to "bump the bonus" to 60K and getting it as a 10K adjustment instead.

Sorry if this has been asked before-- I'm looking to apply for the Citi HH 50K 2x; is it necessary to clear cookies/cache between the 2 applications? My understanding is that it's not really a "trick" as it's within the rules. I plan on using 2 browsers.

And FWIW it's always advised to clear cookies cache etc before applying as you may have been directed to a web page from another site etc , even when using shopping malls etc
Hope this helps

If the two browsers are of truly independent types (for example, Firefox which is Mozilla/Gecko-based and Internet Explorer which isn't), then they cannot share cookies, so clearing cookies between the two apps is not necessary. It is a good idea, however, if you have previously visited any other Citi apps on the same computer, to clear cookies before starting the whole process (at least all "citi" related cookies).
There is more than one Mozilla/Gecko-based browser out there, however, so if you happen to be using two Mozilla/Gecko-based browsers (even if they go by different names), they may share cookies in some cases.
But rather than trying to figure out what to do in those cases, the best thing is to use two browsers with each from a different group.
- IE is in the Trident group
- Firefox is in the Mozilla/Gecko group
- Google Chrome and Apple Safari are in the WebKit group
- Opera Mini is in the Java group
( For more on browser type categories, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers )
So any two browsers, one from one of these groups and another from a different one of these groups, avoid the need to clear cookies between app 1 in one browser type and app 2 in another browser type.

Or, lets keeps things simple.
Open internet explorer.
Go to tools -> InPrivate Browsing (AKA Porn mode)...
One app in the main window, one in the InPrivate window, done.

AoR
So finally did my second (mini) AoR. Here are the results:
- Chase Hyatt - Called recon line and was thoroughly grilled. Moved some CL from another card and got it opened. He actually questioned why I had so many apps from 4 months ago. Luckily I had an answer for him. I'm staying away from Chase for now.
- BoH Hawaiian Air - Called recon and had to move some CL from my card from 3 month ago. She gave me $5k which I think should be enough for the signature visa. I'll call to fight this if I don't get the full bonus.
- Citi HH x2 - Called app status line and she asked me a couple of questions and said would let me know in a week's time what their decision would be. Should I call again and try to speak to someone? I just opened 2 CL's for AA in the last 4 months so not sure if they'll be willing to open new lines for me. Last time when I applied for the AA ones, one was a 'decision pending' which they approved a week later. I'm hoping they'll just move around any CL and approve me. Should I be proactive and call again or wait to hear from them?
Thanks.

I also have question about clearing cache/cookies. Had a lesson at the Apple Store last night. Asked how to clear cache (I was in Safari at the time). I knew how to clear the "History". Was showed that if I reset Safari it would clear the history and this included the cache. What I don't know about are "cookies".
For the 2nd browser I have Firefox. Rarely, if never use it. I opened it just now to begin 2 browser method but cannot find how to clear the history. Can someone please help?
Then when I fill out the applications I click "Submit" on one. Quickly clear history and click "Submit" on the other. Right?

At the top of your Safari browser page click Safari, then Preferences, then Privacy, then you will see "Cookies and other website data - remove website data"; if you click that then all your cookies will be deleted. (In the Privacy tab you could instead click Details - which would allow you to view all your cookies and delete only certain ones, rather than all of them.)

So for me, it's;
Already have FF open (since it's my default browser).
Open internet explorer, done.
(But I agree, for those who only have IE, your solution does sound much simpler than getting another browser. Thanks.)

If ever asked about it by someone at Citi, just say you want the two cards to keep track of different kinds of expenses. (That's the most common reason banks hear for people wanting two cards, including that earn the same kind of points. People often want, say, one card for reimbursable work expenses and another card for personal expenses, or whatever other two categories.)

Citi is just slow about these things. It took them a full week to call me after my app, to ask me if they could move some CL around. Once I picked the card to move the CL from and ok'd it, within a dozen or two minutes I was approved for both. But they wouldn't do it until they talked to me.
And then they told me it would be another week before I saw the cards in my mailbox. (And three days later I got confirmation emails that I'd been aprroved for both, but after 5 days I still don't have the cards, we'll see if I get them on day 6 or only day 7.)

- The best offer is 40k. You open it in IE thinking you'll apply. This saves the "cookie" in your browser.
- At the last second, you decide to wait and close the browser.
- Then you see a 50k offer and open it in IE.
- The cookie from your original visit is still in memory, and for some reason it overrides the higher application amount.
My suspicion is, something like that happens for the rare occasions when people swear they opened the higher offer but later receive the lower offer.
Just closing the browser and reopening it won't generally clear a cookie. But InPrivate will explicitly ignore anything from previous sessions.
