We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus
Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]
There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived
Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)
Older 35K Link (older link not working)
Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)
1) I applied for this card but got the message
Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/
At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.
2) What's the reconsideration line number?
866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.
3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.
4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.
5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?
The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.
AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.
Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

It's a very minor benefit but would count as one of your 36 activities needed to get 100,000 miles.

I applied and got instant approval. Yay! Not so much...
Upon closer scrutiny, I realized that I got the "platinum" instead of the "world premier" and thus 10,000 instead of 35,000. I called to inquire/argue; 1st CSR said nothing can be done; I asked for supervisor, who said only thing possible is to submit a formal complaint (which she did) and to wait for a response from their research team.
Is that really all that can be done? Should I have gone up another level of supervisors? How many levels till I can tell off the CEO? Has anyone had luck getting bumped from 10,000 to 35,000 after the misleading approval?
Thanks

Barclay's is the worse credit card I'd dealt with. I had a CC in 2006 (for 25K US bonus miles), converted to a no annual fee version & a year later, they cancelled the card. (never late on anything, decent FICO's). They gave me a lower than usual limit. (5K when others gave me 20K).
I was thinking of applying just to get the bonus but with the risk of getting the Plat card for only 10K bonus, I'm not that interested.
I got the run around when they cancelled my card. Not worth it when there are so many other bonuses that are better.
The one good thing about US is they have 60K RT off peak rewards in Business. I used one 2.5 years ago for my wife & I when we went to Madrid.
Off topic: I checked availability a few months ago (LAX-MAD) when US had their 100% bonus on buying miles. OK dates in Jan/Feb for 2 seats in offpeak Biz. (60K miles each) Taxes were about $40pp.

Terrible experience!
Like many that have posted on this thread, I was approved for the 10k offer instead of 35k. My attempts to speak to a supervisor were futile, even though I was on the phone for more than 30 mins three times. Their customer care is pathetic!
Even though I have excellent credit, they offered me the 10k card with a credit limit that would be considered low even for somebody with a 6-month credit history. I wonder what kind of logic they use in making these decisions.
I ended up canceling before I activated the card. Hopefully, they will change their ways and hopefully, folks who canceled can apply the next time they have a big signup bonus!

I've read this whole thread and still don't see how to know which card I got approved for. My instant approval says "Congratulations! You’ve been approved for the US Airways Dividend Miles MasterCard." Nowhere does this email say any of the words "Platinum", "World", or "Premier".
So what is it that everyone is seeing to know which card they got approved for?

Premier (World) and Platinum are the two levels. You will get a welcome email detailing the card benefits. It doesn't say specifically which you were approved for but if you have a $149 companion ticket offer that means you were downgraded. The Premier has a $99 companion benefit. You can also check on the account online. Under Rewards -> Program Overview it will show the first use bonus if you you received the 10K offer, if you received the 35K offer it doesn't mention it.

really helpfull, thanks
weird, both cc have different names, totally different but both are only 10K bonus cards.
did anybody get 35K, is this just a complete farce?
are these all TU pulls, so at least we can take some comfort in THAT!
what an awlful company, just about to re-locate for a position in the UK, now I know to stay away from them...
