Don't you just hate it when you volunteer to be a backup Santa to someone who can't be bothered to acknowledge receipt of the package, or to thank you for your efforts. Wharvey must be a saint in disguise for dealing with all this.

I have given up expecting people to acknowledge anything... or thank each other....

It is one of the reasons I no longer personally participate... the amount of time and effort this takes.... and some just want to take... and then I had two people this year actually blame me for the "bad" gifts they got...

This is a labor of love for FT and everything I have gotten... just sad to see others who do not feel the same way.

I was also a sub for 2 bad Santas and one giftee was very gracious and appreciated the effort and the other was not. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

You really are a saint Wharvey and deserve a medal!

I've had a great time reading through the whole thread tonight and can't wait for the 2014 SS to start!

I've had to miss the last couple of years but I'm getting fully involved this year!

+1 on looking forward to FTSS, but IIRC even though the thread was started 9/1 the actual details didn't get posted until later... so there's still hope.

I think of (and send kind thoughts to) my Secret Santa's all the time....when I use my Hawaii themed Starbucks card .....when I travel and use my eBags packing cubes..... and so many other little things.

I've participated for several years and love it and thank Wharvey for his work on this all the time. I had a bad recipient last year who never acknowledged any gifts from me (nor his other Santas) and didn't send any gifts to his recipients but have faith in the overall FT Community.

I'm looking forward to 2014!

I think of my Santas from prior years quite a bit, as so many of them have sent things I still use--from zebra-striped knives to a home repair book to a lasagna pan and other goodies!

This year we have a new feature, the Wiki. It should be easier to manage everything, update gift status, etc.

We had the Wiki last year, although some used it more than others.
