I wonder what the record is for the TSA finding drugs

  • A record breaking 73 firearms were discovered this week in carry-on bags
  • 2 replica military rounds were discovered in a checked bag at Tucson (TUS).
  • Various knives were discovered at MGW, JFK, JFK, BWI, BNA, PVD and BWI
  • Ammunition was discovered in a checked bag at HYS.

I was thinking the 73 guns. TSA claims they have a deterrent effect.

I can't find a more appropriate thread, so I'll just throw in this little tidbit here that appeared on @AskTSA this morning:

Airport federal security directors have discretion to exempt TSA airport employees from undergoing standard screening.

QED. The half bottle of Coke Zero was the 50% they missed. They would have found the other half if it was still there.

Between high numbers of travelers and the work slowdown, I'm surprised the numbers aren't much higher.

No wonder they fail the Red Team tests.
