Sounds like it.

I find BWI tolerable, although I usually spend my extra time up top with the old Orioles Boeing

Yes, because at least in BWI you can walk over to the other checkpoint when Pre is closed at the C Checkpoint (which is usually is for the BWI-SEA flight). The amenity selection is much more in Baltimore, but yes, the immediate gate areas are comparable.

I take it that this situation is "indefinite" (as opposed to "permanent")?

Alaska should have fought for better gates, but instead they rolled-over and let Massport dictate terms.

Its perfect for a shuttle service on a regional jet. Dedicated security. In and out.

AS Gates @ BOS -- Blegh!

Anyone fly AS from BOS lately?

Just flew on Monday evening and inbound flight (from PDX) was delayed 2 hours due to runway construction. Then catering was late which added to the delay. Then an ATC delay.

Aside from the grumble, the AS gates (apparently these are the VX gates, C40-42) are horrible. No seating, 1 set of restrooms, barely any food/dining options, etc. The agent who checked my bag told me to wait as long as possible before going in..

I actually got TSA to let me through to the jetBlue/intl airlines gates since my parents were departing on B9 and there's a PP lounge there. Much nicer place to wait.

Anyone know if AS will get a nicer gate area in BOS?

There have been threads about this already. AS will not be getting new gates in BOS.

Happy reading and welcome to BOS fun! VX Moved here as well after the merger. I normally hang out and plane watch behind the Burger King and head down right at boarding basically.

Oops -- when I did a search that thread did not pop-up (at least according to my quick glance). Sorry. Can we merge or delete this thread?

Shame to hear that AS won't be getting new gates though.

I certainly don't blame you. But why not fly jetBlue? They're in the good part of Terminal C and have non-stops to SAN.
