If you flew last night madone59 you must have been sitting right near me I had a lovely bowl from Boloco before clearing security and getting on the plane. That gate area tho... what a dump!

I guess it wasn't that bad (i was departing only not a turn) . I had some food and some beers at that sports bar and cleared security at about 40 min before departure to guarantee overhead bin space. Oh and no randometer on the metal detector game from what i could see. When i went through terminal B security for AA on Wednesday they decided while i was in line to jack it up to every other person mode. Luckily my arm was bothering me that do so just got a hand swab. I wash they would go back to the standard get randomly selected for a hand swab than nudoscope

I am on a MR Tuesday, SEA-BOS-SEA, taking the same aircraft outbound/inbound. Reading through this thread makes me cringe in terms of getting some dinner in between the two flights. Looking at F inventory, I am holding out zero hope for an upgrade.

What is the general consensus in terms of exiting security to get something to eat? Is exiting the gate area to get something to eat feasible time-wise, or should I pack something for myself and/or buy on board?

I did a MR SEA-BOS-SEA on Friday and had plenty of time between flights to exit security, take a long walk to the B terminals (hoping for better food options), and grab a meal (to-go) from the pre-security food court. No pre-check, but minimal line going back into the gates.

Personally, I'd just buy on board if the upgrade(s) didn't come through.

I didn't have near enough time to get food tonight... I had about 15 minutes between getting off the plane (29C) and boarding (6D). I was #59 (?!) on the upgrade list on the flight to BOS, and #28 on the flight back. 62 MVP or higher pax on that first flight.

I guess people bit when they lowered this week's fares to BOS a few weeks ago...

Nor a PP lounge either...
Supposedly you have the AF lounge available in the E concourse but that means clearing security twice, but if you have the time, why not...I've done it in SFO to get to the Centurion Lounge (which is well worth the hassle).

When you leave the AF lounge, how long does it take to get to the AS gates? Would you say the extra hassle to use the AF lounge was worth it if you have a few hours to spare?

It was the old AS gates...so 20 minutes perhaps?

(that was walking for a lot of it- got on the wrong bus).

But for a few hours it was ok. Much longer I'd go into town- but watch out for traffic

So are the "new" AS gates closer or farther away??
