Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

NOTE: Rouge Wifi information can be found here

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

And once they start making money, they will start awarding miles and start a FF program to lure flyers away from other airlines. Eventually, when they start loosing money, they chase everyone away.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

The cabin crew will eventfully be hired offshore

For anyone who didn't know Jet* was hiring cabin crew from Thailand and they were then being utilized on domestic routes in Australia for Jetstar - for half the cost of the budget airline's local staff.

Boy, doesn't that make them an easy target for Westjet and transat to undercut on fares.
When they only have four planes to start with, it makes it difficult to spread the route network across the country.

Can Rouge hire foreign workers?
If anyone know the legalities involved, what stops the new FAs and Pilots from forming a Union and demanding the same as ACs Unions?

That implies there are a bunch of 'foreign workers' on the Jetstar planes. Not so. But then again, there are lots of Aussies in Thailand!

And the airline definitely can't avoid paying below Australian union scale. its just that the QF scales were legacy and pretty high!

Cabin Crew for rouge will be represented by the same union as mainline FAs - CUPE. ACPA will also represent the flight crew.

AC has already agreements with the unions on pay and work rules.

Maybe not now, but they were. It was obviously shut down quickly. The reality is it happened however.

And aren't the three amigos fins 687/689/690?

Another note, AC rouge bookable with AE: YUL-ATH 75,000 miles and $576.55 in fees. Don't yet see any J-like product available, though.

Oh yeah, and 29" pitch on the 319s. It'll be intersting to see if the slimline seats make up for anything.

I personally think Rouge is a terrible name for Anglophone flyers. Even Red would have been better in my opinion.

The only plus to this arrangement is the ability to interline tickets / baggage and connections with mainline. It also seems like the status benefits come over to some degree as well. At least you keep your lounge access (but probably not if you are an A3 Star Gold).

I think not maintaining their own website for ticket sales is a fail- if they are trying to give this a serious go.

This is a no-brainer in every way for AC.
