Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

CALGARY - As Air Canada announced its plans for a discount vacation carrier Tuesday, a WestJet spokesperson said the Calgary-based airline is unafraid of extra competition in the leisure travel market.

“We invented low-cost flying in Calgary, and have almost 17 years of experience running one of the most successful low-cost carriers in North America. So we welcome the competition,” said WestJet’s Robert Palmer. “Bring it on.”

No, it doesn't 'make sense' - How much extra could handing out a few beers and cups of wine cost?

Speaking of Aeroplan, I've read all the pages but I don't see any mention as to whether you can *redeem* AE miles for lipstick flights?

105% in service fees,

Unless there is some side deal, Aeroplan will probably not have access to the new airline, not part of their agreement or.............. Maybe just maybe Aeroplan will get more access and reduced access to regular AC flights

As I continue playing with the AC search engine tonight, I did found that those AC % off Promo Code worked on these AC rouge flights.

I like the fact that they fly into EDI.. I don't have to catch Transat to GLA anymore. But because they don't fly everyday i might have to buy one way and fly Transat back, which i don't have a problem with. ^

And it is from Thomas Cook... So the leadership is quite familiar with it.
that looks hideous...and frankly would not want to be in there if emergency evac was imminent.

I understand AC wanting to have a LCC "brand" but now that I see how its being rolled out (bookings via aircanada.com, etc.) I'm wondering why they didn't simply didn't take a different approach?

Why didn't they just set-up rouge as an international tier 2 carrier with a CPA similar to the agreements they have with Jazz and Sky? This is how it appears to be more than really being a stand-alone airline. They could have had the cost savings from the lower cost structure and saved millions of dollars in future advertising/marketing/other overhead costs.

How long will Rouge last?

I'm curious to know how long people here think that Rouge will last. I never thought it was a good idea in the first place and the latest information released today doesn't make me think any different.

Personally I think it will be late 2015/early 2016 when AC pulls the plug on this.

Thoughts?

I thought LCC meant a one fare cabin with maybe a little extra fare for exit row. What is this T, T+ and latitude all about? Rouge sounds more like mainline minus minus.
