For anyone who didn't know Jet* was hiring cabin crew from Thailand and they were then being utilized on domestic routes in Australia for Jetstar - for half the cost of the budget airline's local staff.
That implies there are a bunch of 'foreign workers' on the Jetstar planes. Not so. But then again, there are lots of Aussies in Thailand!
And the airline definitely can't avoid paying below Australian union scale. its just that the QF scales were legacy and pretty high!
