Thank you for this thread. Particularly about the part where Avis has been poor in posting the bonus miles. I just got my bonus miles (2x3000=6000) posted associated with two past rentals. All it took was an email and my rental numbers as proof.

I have had no problem with the 3k miles posting automatically and within a week of the end of the rentals. I can't tell you why others have had an issue but I've had none.

I think Avis's partner promo computer/office got pretty jammed in the last few months -- the simultaneous US, AA, Carlson big ones, in addition to whatever the usual noise is.

The bonus is available on up to 10 activities during the promotion period, and the more activity credited to your account the bigger the bonus you earn.
1 – 2 hotel stays/car rentals = 25% bonus miles
3 – 4 hotel stays/car rentals = 50% bonus miles
5 – 6 hotel stays/car rentals = 75% bonus miles
7 – 10 hotel stays/car rentals = 100% bonus miles
Only the first 10 transactions (based on activity date) count towards the bonus, and the cumulative bonus you earn will apply to all of those transactions credited to your account. Activity must be reported by February 28 to qualify for the bonus.

Unless someone has details of what U.S. Air did with this sort of promo, during prior years, it's going to be a very long game.
The T&C state that the bonus miles (note: not the bonus for the rental that you might get, e.g. the 3K in the case noted above), but the 25,50,75,100% bonuses will only post in March of 2013.

Yeah. I have 7 Avis rentals outstanding at this point. 6 of them qualify for the 3k bonus. Who knows when they will post.

Have others who are NOT preferred status fared this way as well? Anyone who does NOT have preferred status still get the bonus miles? I ask bc I signed up for the preferred status trial a while back and when I log in to my account, it says "preferred status" though I would have thought my trial was over. It does NOT say "silver, gold, etc" preferred status so I am thinking that this promo will not work for me.
Instead, could this may be the next best alternative?
