I hope that the 'marketing' agreement with Pepsi doesn't include any appearances by that devil-child that looks like the younger Linda Blair.... Hailey Eisenberg I think is her name.

OTOH, Pepsi is bringing back the Cindy Crawford commercials from the early 1990s... who else has been in Pepsi commercials... Halle Berry, Britney Spears. Hmmm, I wouldn't mind some celebrity appearances on my next flight at all http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Pepsi has been kicking Coke's behind recently, to the extent the cola wars matter nowadays. I know, so 1980s.

More seriously, I found it odd how UA provides 7Up instead of Sprite. Will 7Up stay, or will UA switch to whatever the latest Pepsification of it is? I presume we'll see Dew as well, no?

NOW ***THIS*** is Breaking news!!!

United has been my favorite airline... and this seals the deal!!!

Sorry Coke fans, but if you know me I'm a PEPSI boy (although I wish they would replace their current spokeschild "singer" with a bigger entertainer.)

This is funny - it took me forever and a day (minus a few years) to STOP asking for Pepsi products on Alaska Airlines. Although I'm fairly indifferent to the whole thing, I can just see the pseudo-air rage scenes..."WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE DIET COKE. I'M NEVER FLYING THIS ********* AIRLINE AGAIN" while throwing the Diet Pepsi on the flight attendant. {No,please, I am NOT encouraging such a scene.}

Gee, why not a novel concept and offer both?

I guess my personal carry-on will be a 2 Liter of Diet Coke.

Am I correct in assuming the final decision, Coke or Pepsi depends on the cost of each product?

Yes, I do encounter passengers who won't have a Diet Coke because they love Diet Pepsi, and occassionally such loyal folk seem to be really put out that we don't stock their cola of choice.

The funniest was a middle-aged lady who carried her own 6-pack of Tab in her large purse. I didn't even think they still made Tab and don't see it in my neck of the woods.

Every decision at UA boils down to cost...

Unfortunately you don't have to even encourage such a scene, I guarantee you it will happen. Those loyal Pepsi-ites have been quite vocal about UA forcing Coca-Cola on them.

Pepsi-Cola Inc. has been more aggressively marketing their product than Coca-Cola has been. They've snagged the Britney Spears/Bob Dole combination (not a bad campaign) but I haven't noticed anything as big from Coca-Cola.

I'm not surprised if Pepsi was the one lowering their bulk prices to lure United (and other companies) to switch to them.

In addition, does this mean we will see a whole slew of Pepsi products like Mountain Dew appear on flights and Coca-Cola products go bye bye?

I was shocked that AntiChrist, i mean AA offered me Pepsi & Coke on their flights.. too bad I only got a small glass of diet pepsi on STL - LAS... no peanuts, no harvest mix, no rold gold Cheddar mix... just a glass on a TWA napkin...

*sigh*

I'm never leaving United......
