Not sure if it will help reduce costs....rather than a rum and coke, I'll just have a rum with a chaser of beer. Pepsi can go to hell.

FYI

7up is no longer owned by Pepsi. They are usually associated with Pepsi, since the independent distributors had to carry 7up when it was a Pepsi product. Also, I'm sure Pepsi will do a brand analysis for United and somehow I doubt Mt. Dew will be a reccomended product... but who knows http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.

You might start seeing Sierra Mist on the flights instead of Mt. Dew. Sierra Mist is Pepsi's answer to Sprite but essentially a reincarnation of Lemon Lime Slice. I don't fancy Sierra Mist compared to my beloved Sprite OR 7up. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I hope they'll get Wild Cherry Pepsi; otherwise I don't care about the change http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I'm with Catman - this is GREAT news! And for the rest of you, why would you ruin booze by putting it with pop!

If present trends continue, UA and all the other airlines will gradually replace restrooms in all classes by coin/card operated vending machines for beverages of your choice and pretzels.

Airline promotions then could read "Fly one roundtrip in x class, and get two free beverages of your choice on one of your forthcoming flights"* *requires a $2200 RT purchase.

Sorry for the cynism, but given the amount of sugar and phosphates in both products, discussed here, the best choice is still beer, wine of water. I understand, there are sulfides in wine, but you cares.

Mt. Dew would definitly makes things better. And I thought Sprite was owned by Pepsi, thus Sprite is Pepsi's answer to 7UP?

Well if they are going to have Pepsi, they need to have Pepsi Twist with Lemon.

I have stopped drinking anything with caffeine in it somewhat over a year ago; before that, however, I guzzled more Diet Coke than the jet guzzled kerosene and I have never liked Diet Pepsi (even though I enjoyed Diet Mountain Dew). Were I still in that mode, I'd be aghast. These days, my routine is one can of Ginger Ale to settle the stomach and then water, water, water...

Guys and gals, I have a good feeling about this. Trust me on this one: This switch, coupled with no longer paying any commissions to the travel agents, will do what the partial restoration of meal service on select routes during times of the day when it is appropriate plus all flights from the Denver hub, well, make that some flights, could not do! And that is... that is... help me out here, please! What is it again that they need at United?

I rarely drink soda, preferring Squirt when I do, but prefer Pepsi over Coke. The important thing here is to insure that plenty of Budweiser will be kept on board. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Not a big thing for me.. I usually drink either 1) water 2) Orange Juice and Cranberry mixed or 3) I carry on DR PEPPER. (LOL one DR PEPPER exploded on board once..)

I got addicted to Dr Pepper working for one of their bottlng companies (was a client) and would take Dr Pepper on board every week! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And here is where to get the very best Dr. Pepper, the only bottling plant still using cane sugar:

I've always thought Dr. Pepper was like Root Beer, but it's not really. What IS it?

I've checked Newsreal and for one thing, Monday's is not out yet, and there is nothing on OBS's website (On Board Service) within SkyNet that would suggest a switch. I'll belive it when I read it or see it.

Well I guess we can all guess what airline them good 'ol Coke boys in ATLANTAH use as carrier of first choice. The Pepsi travel account would be a biggie to seal, and vice versa re sodas. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
