I really like Diet Coke. i can deal with it not being on a flight but on an otherwise toss of a coin, I choose against Hyatt properties because of their lack of Coke products.

Despite all our strong feelings about which product we prefer, Pepsi vs. Coke, etc., isn't it fair to say that what we like doesn't really matter to United? How many of you Coke fans will stop flying United because they no longer offer Coke?
Kinda sucks, doesn't it... oh well http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ------------------ When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. - Leonardo da Vinci |

Pepsi on United? This is great news! makes up (almost) for the sucky flight crew on UA 800 yesterday.

Guess I'll have to bring my own from now on. Jack and Pepsi is horrible.

There's an article in today's WSJ about this. Apparently 7Up will stay.

I'll miss the diet coke too.
Pepsi is probably doing everything it can for damage control since it's multi million dollar prommotional star (Britney) has been photographed at several interviews drinking a can of soda, and it wasn't Pepsi. |
I'm really surprised by how big this news seems to be. Reuters and the AP have both published stories on it, it was covered in the WSJ, I saw a blurb on CNBC about it while at the gym, and we're now on our third page of thread about it.
The folks over on the BA board who make fun of the United board for only being whining about SWUs will love to hear that we've found something new to spend multiple pages on. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Wheres the important details? Dew or no dew, that tis the question. I need something to keep me awake on those transatlantic and transpacifics doing work.

7-up (US) and Dr. Pepper are both owned by Cadbury-Schweppes. Internationally, though, 7-up is owned by Pepsico.
In some places (Chicago, St. Louis, western Michigan, Florida) there is an independent bottler which handles 7-up and Dr. Pepper (also Royal Crown, Squirt, etc etc) Other places the bottler handles both Coke/Pepsi and 7-up/Dr. Pepper in kind of a crazy quilt pattern. Really drives national retailers/restaurant chains crazy. Interesting that there are still some tiny bottlers around (e.g. Tarpon Springs, Florida and Milledgeville, GA). I understand that they may not produce/package everything (but buy it from neighboring bottlers at wholesale). Interesting business....sugar, water and caramel coloring. JL |
