I have avoided this megaproxy because I'd rather not have security information such as my MP# and password pass through a third party. I'm glad that it works for those of you that try, but it is criminal that not only does it still not work at united.com, but there is absolutely no posted comment from them saying "Some of you may be experiencing problems with E-upgrade summary. We are working on this" or to provide some kind of feedback system.
This has been a known problem for over a month now. Come on UA, get your act together! ------------------ RichardMEL, UA 1K A Star Alliance Member. |
FWIW, I can still successfully access my E-Upgrade Summary, my Mileage Summary and (all of) My Itineraries. I can do this from at least three different PC's & networks (although all are MS IE and MS Win2000/XP). I have not experienced any problems.

I can't view my upgrades, and unlike everyone else here, http://www.megaproxy.com/ isn't
doing me any good. Let's see if I got this right. I go to megaproxy, type http://www.ual.com/ into the field, agree to the terms. All I get is "document contains no data". I tried both Netscape and Explorer. Any ideas? |
I have an idea and for me a complete and total solution.
Get this... My problems had to do with my ISP dial up number! I'm not kidding. I started to notice that while I was on the road, dailing in from different city local access numbers, I could access everything just fine. Then when I returned home...blatto. Nothing. So...I tried dialing in from home by long distancing to a number I know worked while on the road and bingo...it works. And the reverse is true. I'm at LAX right now and it's working fine on a local LAX area access number, but if I call my old home access number...blatto...nothing. I dail up using AOL/CompuserveNet local access numbers. Maybe it's some stupid firewall issue at the Network interface that effects some dial-in locations or other methods of access? All I know is that I went through the list of local access numbers for my home area one-by-one and determined which ones worked and which didn't and switched to those that did and now have no problems. This even solved the same problem for a friend on a Mac Desktop (I'm Windows). This also solved my problem accessing my account using majonguy's itncheck progam! Very freaky. But I'm finally back to 100% on everything all the time. [This message has been edited by PremEx (edited 01-25-2002).] |
sosafan- please check your e-mail!!!
Premex---Thanks-a-million for all your hard work. It would be cool if you'd tell someone @ UAL, that knows what their doing, what you've determined. I can obtain my upgrade info thru Megaproxy, but the expiration dates do not appear, just # of upgrades, broken down by boxes with no months indicated. I've been waiting 3 weeks for 2 confirmed domestic's to be recredited when they were taken, without asking me, in LAS (X-mas day)instead of 2-500's. When I called MP,I violated my own unwritten rule. When given a stupid answer, hang up and call back. I was told that my request needed to be written up and forwarded to ???, and it would take between 2 & 3 weeks. In the past any problems with upgrades were handled immediately over the phone. I must agree with other threads, "Mileage Plus" and all the stuff that goes with it (upgrades, etc.) no longer are a priority with UAL. Nearly 99% of the e-mails I get from UAL are not to my wife or me (both 1-K's) but to my daugher a 2000 mile a year flyer. Obtaining our upgrade status is our problem. Getting NEW flyers is now their problem. |

Hey, Premex & 1P Rick you both have got to admit that there are some really good UAL employees out there that know what there doing. If you haven't found them yet, do twice the miles & become 1k's. This will improve your odds.
|
TUFBEAR...Yes, I know there are. But not many at ual.com, IMHO.
Besides, I'm already a 1K Million Mile Flyer (well on the way to 2 million). So odds have been in my favor for quite some time now. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Premex, You're absolutely correct & I stand corrected. UAL.com sucks and so far I haven't seen anyone at this site that knows or cares about helping us. United Connection was the best, but as they say, " If it isn't broken, fix it". As for the employees at UAL. Excuse me for a minute, phones ringing. I'm back it was my "girl" @ a local UAL ticket office reminding me that we have a 12:55 P.M. flight tomorrow to LAS & it shows on time. She just wanted to make sure I have the changes. Oh yea! She also stated our upgrades went thru O.K. These people are seeing their friends being laid off & transfered & I just hope that I am in a position some day to repay the ones that looked after my wife & me for the past 5 years. This situation is very stressful for all of them. Sorry I took your previous comment to "mean" all employees. It kind of made me "MEAN" for a little bit.

Sorry, but I don't see why it would have anything to do with the access number you dial. Besides, I've tried it at all kinds of locations from LHR Maple Leaf Lounge to AKL RCC and other places, and still no go. Besides, once your ISP gets you to the Internet all the traffic *should* look the same to united.com (at the application layer, anyway). I just wish UA would fix it darnit!

Another ual.com peeve--sometimes when, from the main ual.com page, I enter my MP number and password in the Mileage Summary panel and click the Check button, instead of seeing my account balance, I am mysteriously transported to the Create itinerary page. What a piece of junk this web site is! And I know you won't believe this, but my request still "cannot be processed at this time." ------------------ Jon Wright mailto:[email protected][email protected]</A> |

Try entering www.ual.com only. Leave off the other stuff-http //, etc. After you eliminate a few ads it should work.
Good luck!!! |
I have the same issue as jwright from time to time, and of course still no *(#)@*@ e-upgrade summary (tonight I tried from my mother's pc, new browswer and totally different ISP...)
