is there now an area of the NZ lounge for the F passengers or is the concept of a separate area for a IFL gone with the move to Koru?

To the best of my knowledge, there will only be a "larger" Koru, rather than an IFL.
Best, Dave

The NZ lounge as a whole is a million times better than the "F area" the RCC had.

Food quality in NZ SYD lounge seems to have dropped this year

Not if its overcrowded and you can't find a seat ... but in general, I agree its much nicer.

Inevitable considering United is involved now

Passed through a couple of days ago. A couple of changes for what it is worth:
  • Far more crowded at the time of the morning when the UA flights arrive and leave.
  • Food quality as good as ever but reduced choices
  • Front desk moved as noted above with the same delightful NZ staff referring to the bored and disgruntled looking UA staff at neighboring desk (The contrast was shameful!)
  • Many more flight announcements than usual
  • Towels now in bathrooms rather than needing to be picked up from the (nonexistent) front desk.

Other than that no obvious change.

Oh for the good old days

Huh. I never needed to get a towel from the front desk when using showers at NZ's SYD lounge.

Huh? Wasn't Annie there? Nothing bored or disgruntled about her! She is the best.

Ugh, I was in the Koru Club this morning/afternoon prior to 870 back to SFO today. It was PACKED. Barely anywhere to sit, loud, etc. Not much unlike NZ's Auckland international lounge earlier in the day.

No more F escorts, since they can't corral them into one area...

Me neither, I think in fact each set of towels was wrapped together in plastic so you could be certain they hadn't been used, but they had 2 or 3 or more sets already in the shower room.

Hanging out in the public area of the terminal is a million times better than the "F area" the RCC had.
