Thanks for the heads up! I got a standard F award on the outbound (returning Sunday on the 747 standard F).
Now I just have to decide if I'm going to eat the $200 change fee for the revenue ticket I already had booked. Hmmm...and how to use that SWU....

Hmph. I'm short a few miles to make this work. Will purchasing miles still take 2 days?

haha yes, of course. But I'm one of those pesky Economy class 1k's that upgrades all the time and rarely buys full fares across 2 states, let alone an ocean.
$3k is more cash than I shelled out for the IAD-PEK inaugurals (not counting the miles redeemed for part of the ticket), and people thought I was nuts then.

ah yes, of course. I'll figure out the miles issue later. That was a bit of the fun for PEK too

Ok, I'm biting the bullet. I'll find a way to:
1) suck up the $200 change fee on my paid ticket
2) use up my extra SWU I'll get back
3) get the 4,500 EQM I'm going to need
That said, how can I maximize this award? I need to be in Copenhagen on Wednesday by 8pm and come back CPH-XXX-IAD on Sunday.
So, right now, I have:
IAD-FRA-XXX on Monday/Tuesday
XXX-CPH on Wednesday
CPH-FRA-IAD on Sunday
The only "cool" XXX I'm finding that might work is ATH. I assume XXX needs to be a city where XXX-CPH-FRA-IAD is a legal routing since XXX will be my destination and CPH my stopover. Ideas?

Shoot! I was so close! I'm booked in C on 952 on 11/21. Wonder if I have any chance of getting the new configuration... Otherwise I wish I were on the 777. Anyone else on that flight with me?

A very nice 1k reservations lady took great pleasure in chuckling at me. However, she said that she couldn't find the new config on the 19th, only the 20th...

Where will the new 67 go aafter return from FRA?
Any chance it will go on to SFO and back to IAD the next morning?
I am showing it for flight 914 SFO-IAD on NOV 21.

Total speculation here, but I'm guessing it's going right back to either ZRH or FRA. Not very good utilization to send it out west when it could cross the ocean again.
