Well, I didn't know where that link would point to, and a link to a private forum wouldn't work for those of us not deemed worthy to participate.
But this link is giving at least a bit more info (incl. the fact that "Jeff" didn't refer to the big cheese Jeff Smisek himself, as I had assumed)

I hope everyone who took the time to write to 1k voice, and to contact AA about status matches realizes how important their work is - it is people like us who have saved/delayed this devaluation.
Now that UA has pacified us for 12 months, we need to not let up the gas and try to save the CR1's permanently, not just for 1 year.

I got the same read from it tonight, that MP execs are willing to listen and could make some adjustments.
And by the way, pretty much every comment/question/critique/rant/whatever that has been posted in this thread was brought up.

As mentioned, this is a welcome change. Those flying 150K+ EQM in 2011 will have a sizable stash of CR1s come the end of next year.
At the least this gives time to acclimate ourselves to the new overlords.

I'm wondering how it will work out for the SWU's. I sometimes hit 100K in Sept, and sometimes hit 100K in Dec. If I hit 100K in Sept and they deposit 6 SWUs in Sept, will they expire the next Sept? Then the following year, I may hit it Dec...and that means that with the current 12 month validity, I would be SWU-less from Sept-Dec.
I hope that if the new UAL depositis the SWUs in mid year, that as a "reward" for hitting 100K early in the year, they will be valid for the duration of the following calendar year instead of expriring 12 months from the month of issuance.

I don't think so. Remember, the 1K ranks were super inflated this year due to two DEQM periods in 2009. This year there have been none. And while some CO folks will be looking to try out UA, I'm sure the opposite will be true as well.
All I can say is big ^ to saner heads prevailing at M+.

sbm12 posted a nice overall synopsis of the chat tonight, not going into too much specifics.

so I have to NOT go over 100k until Nov or Dec
If swu's are to be issued at 100k but qualification is Jan-Dec AND the usefulness will be 12 months instead of 13, then I will make sure I DO NOT fly UA and cross the threshold too early in the year.
So UA now has a policy to make me avoid flying on them. Brilliant

This is a very possible outcome. As is hitting 100EQM in Dec on year and July the next. You would be swamped with SWUs for a few months.

Wow. All those who derided those who complained on this thread as whiners must feel pretty silly.
I'll be awash in CR-1s in 2011 if I understand things:
- 8 CR-1s for 10K BIS/quarter on UA metal
- 2 CR-1s at 75K EQM
- 2 CR-1s at 100K EQM
- and if I repeat this year's travel, next year, 4 CR-1s for hitting 150K EQM
total: 16 CR-1s. It's a reasonable kiss off.

Unless I missed it, I didn't see anything mentioning the lifespan of a SWU changing.

ok, so this is about the "United Flyers Community" and it's corresponding thread in the CO forum? Thank you notquiteaff for posting the link.

Please give us all the info we need to find this info about the chat, where the synopsis is in one post rather than driving us crazy with this? Thank you.

A serial read of the last couple of pages is likely to drive you crazy until you find the link.
