Let's all brace ourselves -- another big LH strike this Wed the 7th, affecting all hubs it looks like.

I'm seeing my flights 0'ed out already for sale, yet of course they haven't officially canceled anything yet.

Pretty wild adventure on UA35 from San Francisco to Osaka on February 2nd, where comms between cockpit and ATC/United stopped working and they had to resort to ACARS and then CPDLC text messages. Four hours and fuel dump later they returned back to SFO.

The last bit about catering is pretty amusing.

After the second meal, flight attendants announced United would offer bus services to Osaka and Kyoto. On arrival, ANA agents met people at the gate and provided information for the United-provided buses to the Osaka Umeda and Namba train stations. I didn't see any information for the Kyoto-bound bus, but I also didn't bother looking, as I wasn't headed to Osaka or Kyoto.

I was on this flight. They served both meals on the second flight, but then again, the flight was at most half full.

Were you offered any other comp?

UA1 is cancelled tonight (Feb 10) for technical issue as well - they cancelled it 12+ hours in advance...and UA29 is on a one hour rolling delay so far. Sounds like SFO is having some 787-9 troubles lately...I really hope my flight tomorrow is ok...

It flew. Aircraft #3964 flew the recovery HNL-SIN UA3035 on 9 Feb and UA3034 on 10 Feb. Aircraft #3968 was the one that went mx and is still in HNL, causing the UA1 cx on 10 Feb. I was on the cx UA2 on 9 Feb. UA staff in SIN were proactively offering OAL options.
