I booked a Premium Economy on the ticket, So is my priority elevated? If PZ space opens, you might be able to call and confirm yourself into it after the fact, although the wording of the instant-upgrade benefit for non-1Ks is that upgrade space must be available at the time of booking. Otherwise, you should have enhanced priority at the gate, at least within other Gold members, but definitely behind GS members, and I wouldn’t expect you to clear AUS-SFO. |
How long has it taken this year for PlusPoints to show up in your account after requalifying for 1K?

Immediate, as you cross the requisite threshold.

Sorry if this has already been answered -- I looked through the WIKI and did a quick skim but didn't find the answer.
If I book a T fare which has current RN space available, I believe that I can upgrade to RN for 20 PP. Can I then (once confirmed in RN) waitlist for Polaris for 30 PP? In other words, if I make it a 2-step process, could I potentially upgrade from T to PZ for 50 PP, rather than the 80 PP required if I try to do it right away? |

What is the process for applying Plus Points for someone you know, who doesn't have status?
Actually it would be for a premier route, EWR-SFO or vice versa. Maybe not even worth attempting, though otherwise I have no use for the Plus Points I have or the ones I just got for making Platinum. |

Call in with the passenger's name and PNR -- or pull it the reservation up on-line while logged into your account and apply points y:cool:urself. It is quite easy.
Thanks, but I gather that that route is almost impossible to get upgrades? |

For an upcoming domestic flight, I have requested PP upgrades for myself and the three other companions on the same PNR. Right now, that flight is showing J5. Goal is maximum number of upgrades! We're fine being split, not sitting together, etc.

Question for the experts, with a bit of a twist.
I applied +P for a co-worker and son the other day. They were #1 & #2 with 2 available up until about an hour before departure when someone jumped in one of the seats. Since there were still a couple left to check in, I optimistically left the points on, even though they didnt want to split up (2x2 RJ on a short flight anyway, so no big deal). My co-worker actually cleared, but had the GA cxl it. What I assume this did was split the PNR since I cant see her on the original PNR anymore. The twist is they have different last names. Her son now appears to be the holder of the original PNR, I havent asked her if she has a new PNR (she's not a highly experienced flier). I really dont care about the +Ps, but my question is if I want to try again on the return, will the PNR eventually be rejoined (the +Ps taken with the single cleared have not been recredited yet). Should I wait for that, or just do the two PNRs separately, setting up the same situation again, as there is only J2 currently. It seems I have had similar cases, and none of this will shake out until the reservation is completed (meaning a day or two after they get back home). Again, these are expiring points, so dont really care, but trying to figure out the greatest possiblity of success. |
PNRs, once split, cannot be combined anymore. Do the 2 PNRs separately, if you want to play another round of lottery :)
