Wow, that really does look like an economy meal.

It sure did... in fact, I've had frozen TV dinners(the pricier ones that cost $8 ore more) from Kroger that tasted way better than the meals on United Polaris.

IIRC, I read somewhere that United had the same meals for Polaris and Premium Plus on many TPAC flights over 12 hours long. (which almost seems "criminal" to me)

I was unable to verify that because Premium Plus cabin was completely empty on both 777-300ERs that I flew, so I couldn't see what was being served back there. (13-hour outbound and 12 hours return)

It's the beef (with "Hoisin" sauce).

I had the same choices today flying from EWR to BCN but went with the pasta (cheese ravioli with spinach). It was pretty good.

I just flew UA838 NRT-SFO in J. Expectations were low. There was pre-departure sparking wine and champagne was Nicholas Feuillatte. Nuts were warmed. No menu & no wine list of course. Dinner was served on one tray. No bread basket. There was no ice cream and no cheese plate. So nothing has really changed. Currently in the SFO PL, which is a bright spot in the UA network. Champagne is Lanson. 🥂

FRA - ORD 3/11
Drink service with warmed nuts
Got the short rib with rice and veggies, came all on one plate. Something was screwed up on the sauce, so FA's elected to not serve it. With that said, it was excellent even without the sauce. Short rib was cooked perfectly. Skipped desert, pre-landing snack was a pizza (defiantly not excellent).

Salmon was expectedly overcooked, but passable.

Pre-arrival vegetables were quite good. Hot, al dente and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised.

Is that some kind of purple squash with the vegetables? Cool!

Not 100% certain, but it may have been eggplant.

I've never seen cooked eggplant stay so purple, and I think the middle looks like zucchini or some squash rather than eggplant, but eggplant would be more typical as far as purple things go. So I'll take your word for it.

Please don't. I'm usually more of a carnivore. Veggies, to me, are more an accompaniment.Wink
