To find your PQDs if >than $12K
Go to
MileagePlus activity since my last statement and it is in the "Account summary" table at the top of the page.
Note this is not just the UA operated PQDs (which is commonly believed to be what matters for GS) but rather your total PQDs.
Definitions
BIS is actual scheduled flight distance (Great Circle Mileage Distance -- GCM) between airports with 500 mile minimum for elites. This is the standard used for Lifetime miles also. Those flying mostly sub-500 segments sometimes prefer to not use the minimum rule.
The definition for CPM is a bit vaguer, especially since CPM is used in multiple different situations.
Believe for the purpose of this thread, GS qualification, folks are using
PQD CPM = UA PQDs / UA BIS
Note there is no direct evidence UA uses this CPM number for GS Qualification but it is a number FTers like to use.
As for BIS, UA does not report this number your account and it needs to be manually tracked.
One way is to make use that PQMs are based on BIS but there may be a multiplier / bonus for high end fares. If always in 2x PQMs, you could divide by 2 to get BIS.

This! I can't tell you how many times I've added a connection just to fly UA metal to attain/keep GS. If moved back down to 1K or no incentive beyond 1K, will go back to booking based on itinerary, price, and/or best hard product. No more stretching to ensure always flying UA metal.
I asked my boss what she thought about it (first year GS without trying) and she was like "that's stupid...but I'm still flying whoever has best connections." For us, based primarily out of DC with lots of Europe travel, that's often UA.

We had one of our executive protection people get GS with only about 75k miles but with at least $60k spend. He asked me "does this mean anything special?"
I just told him to me, yes. To most normal people, no.

At least five reports on Delta 360 thread say that Delta has confirmed that status through end of January 2022. Crickets from Willis Tower

Can confirm- email came in at 10 am this morning. I imagine United will extend in the same manner. I don't think they have much choice at this point.

UA has made it clear they will lead, and not follow, in the area of mileage programs. The days of Delta being a mileage program first mover are over.

That may be what they are publicly saying, but reality is that every thing (ticket prices, benefits, mileage programs, etc.) do not happen in a vaccuum and airlines react to what their competition is doing....

Honestly what is this logic? You think they’re sitting around going “ah yes, this guy, he will do one of two things next year once restrictions lift: stop traveling as much, or travel like before. Either way we shall ensure he does not get extra special treatment! It’s too risky even though if he doesn’t travel he won’t cost us as much”

Let's just be patient - it's only May an most if not all of us can't travel anyway. I seem to remember a month ago when everyone was mad at AA for taking the longest to extend status for regular frequent flyers.

Because United have made it clear (in my mind) due to their silence that they don’t value my business, my days of choosing connecting flights, grumpy flight attendants, inedible food, and a nice comforter are over!
Message received loud & clear.

I’m GS. Just booked a Southwest flight in 2 weeks because it’s direct. I would have had to make a connection on United, which I would have done without hesitation 3 months ago.

I am doing the same with my AA Ex. Platinum. Got captured by "grass may be greener on the other side", then got hit with 60% of my flights either delayed or cancelled. Fortunately the status was gifted from Hyatt, I won't spend another dime on AA even with the one extra year of extension given.

I really hope you’re correct. With that being said, if UA were to announce a GS extension tomorrow, it wouldn’t fully address my frustration with a situation where the company’s top customers have been left in the dark for weeks. It’s felt like a slap in the face—a total lack of appreciation for our business—at a moment when the airline is quite literally fighting for survival.
