To find your PQDs if >than $12K
Go to
MileagePlus activity since my last statement and it is in the "Account summary" table at the top of the page.
Note this is not just the UA operated PQDs (which is commonly believed to be what matters for GS) but rather your total PQDs.
Definitions
BIS is actual scheduled flight distance (Great Circle Mileage Distance -- GCM) between airports with 500 mile minimum for elites. This is the standard used for Lifetime miles also. Those flying mostly sub-500 segments sometimes prefer to not use the minimum rule.
The definition for CPM is a bit vaguer, especially since CPM is used in multiple different situations.
Believe for the purpose of this thread, GS qualification, folks are using
PQD CPM = UA PQDs / UA BIS
Note there is no direct evidence UA uses this CPM number for GS Qualification but it is a number FTers like to use.
As for BIS, UA does not report this number your account and it needs to be manually tracked.
One way is to make use that PQMs are based on BIS but there may be a multiplier / bonus for high end fares. If always in 2x PQMs, you could divide by 2 to get BIS.

I guess we will all have to wait (for those who are not GS) till January 10th... What is odd... or at least that's how I feel... is that, some are not GS... and they get a message that says wait till January 10th... others who are also not GS get another email saying "reviewing".... I don't get anything... i don't see any changes lol...
over 50k last year..
over 77k this year...
and nothing...
So... will wait till January 10th and wonder... why i didn't get anything
SFO based here....

Am I missing something? My understanding was those notifications were only for current GS who hadn't yet been renewed, not current non-GS...
Sorry but I'm also a but suspect as to whether these "notifications" would even be true for non-GS. Why would United even do that?
Doesn't make any sense...

Been reading this forum quite religiously and am anxiously awaiting Jan. 10th myself but this is the first I've heard that non-GS have received anything on mystatus.united.com or an email about "reviewing".

Read several times and thought they were referring to current “non-GS” that got Jan 10th message. Think they were actually referring to “current GS” that have no chance to renew. Was strangely worded.

I am writing this from the United Club at EWR, about to take my last hop home for the year.
Based in PVD - would be curious as to chances for a first time qualifier. Was 1k in 2019 and here are my year end numbers:
214,550 PQM (186,200 on United Metal)
$73,201 PQD ($60,900 on United Metal)

Based out of EWR. I've been GS for the past two years. My stats:

2018: $50.3k PQD, 180k PQM
2019: $48.2k PQD, 114k PQM
All of the above on United metal.
What do you think my chances are?

I'm noticing in the 2020 re-qualification thread that no re-qual has been <$50K PQD. I seem to remember previous years where some "first wave" re-quals had lower figures. Looking forward to the drop of January 10th-related info in a few weeks.

I also think the threshold for early qualification might tend to be higher this year. I did not early quality at 53K and have been well over 50K for each of the last three years.

Well, I am finishing the year a little below $55K (PQD) and a PQM a little north of 277,000 (All 016 tickets). No invitation, yet.

So to wrap this up and per my understanding:
1)Those who have over 75k mid year may be invited already to become GS...
2)Those who are GS and meets criteria to have their GS renewed, are being notified in December by message or call or both.....
3)Those like me who are not currently GS but awaits for the decision for 2020 will be notified (or not if you don't meet the criteria) sometimes on January 10th... cause we are not GS and united only lets new GS know at that time...
4)Those GS that were GS who have not met their criteria for 2019 and await a decision, also will be notified in January 10th...and get their pending message.
if so, that makes a whole sense now...

Perfect. Now all makes sense.... it was confusing to me
Have to say :
* united metal word;
* Class type (j, z etc... ) i never ever paid attention to the ticket class, cause i typically and always use business tickets....
* years of being a premier 1 k that should count together with the amount spent...
All of it is not easy to follow.... now, the other pressure, as I read it on an article... is to continue to be GS....
Quiet frankly, i am not sure what the real perks are from being a 1 k to a GS... beside earlier boarding and a quick transfer (for tight correspondence) in the US... for reference, Lufthansa ALWAYS sends me a porches when I fly first class and have my own ride.... so.... to hear the transfer in the us is for "tight" connection.... is a bit disappointing...
So.. not really sure what the real perks are... i keep reading the "perks" per se but don't see the value behind it. I also read a GS say that it's hard to be a 1k... but as a 1 k for years, i don't see what the perks is to be a GS... beside the regular upgrade which some claims they do get and other GS says they don't get them... clearly this "invite only" has its own faulty system where confusion seems to be a word that many could use when referring to that program....At least based on my reading here... that's what I got... am i wrong? obviously, regardless of the program... anyone would want to have the top tier....
