Terms and conditions:
1. Offer is for select United MileagePlus® members and only the original recipient of this offer is eligible to participate.
2. All Premier® qualifying miles ("PQM") and Premier qualifying segments ("PQS") purchased with this offer are nonrefundable.
3. Must be a MileagePlus member to participate in this offer.

Purchased PQM and PQS will be posted to the 2018 PQM and PQS balance in the account of the member listed on the purchase page.
5. PQM and PQS purchased through this offer only count toward qualification for 2019 Premier status and do not count toward and may not be used for award redemption.

No good deed goes unpunished.
While I see your point, I think you're more advocating for "planning ahead" on the part of FFs... not so much that UA is somehow being altruistic here by offering everyone this great opportunity! There's a LOT of ways to get 15k+ miles in the 9 months between now and Dec 31. There's only a limited number of ways to get 15k+ miles on Xmas Eve -- which is when a lot of the aforementioned desperation threads start popping up!

I agree - which is why I looked at the offer, laughed, and went on with my day. I'm hard-pressed to believe I'd make back the value in a free drink + snack.

Got offered 15k for $2640. Don't need any PQM, it's the PQD that I cut close.

Wonder what makes you so special? :-) Not much more than $.10/mile. Could be that, as a million-miler, you don't have that much to gain from extra PQMs maybe?

I'm more curious why I have no offer at all. I receive all other emails from UA, almost daily. I'm even guilty of purchasing EQM's years ago...

Currently low on EQM, EQS, but high on spend. I would think I would be a target for this. Unless UA thinks I will be a GS (not happening) with current spend in the last two months.

That and having the PP Mastercard eliminates both spending limit with the bonus of Flex PQM. Platinum on the cheap suits me fine in retirement

Also got offer for 15,000 PQM's for $1820. I guess it might make sense if you're absolutely sure of your travel plans for the rest of the year and MR's aren't possible for you. I'd feel bad if I requalified on my own and this turned out to be a waste of money.

How about if they included this statement with the purchase: "At the end of the year, we'll send you a note asking if you want to apply those PQM's. If you end up not needing them, we'll convert the amount you paid into a travel credit for use on a future flight." I would be tempted to buy what is in effect an insurance policy against my not flying as much as I thought. Either way, UA gets the use of the funds now, and their worst case scenario is that the funds go to a seat that they might otherwise have sold to someone else..

I am forever perplexed why this sort of purchase does not qualify for PQD.

My Premier Accelerator offers are 12 cpm for PQMs + RDMs
My offers from this promo are 13-14 cpm for PQMs, no RDMs -- but does offer PQS (no a segment flyer, so of no value to me)
Neither offer PQDs but with a PQD waiver and no plans to go higher than Plat this year -- a non-issue.

Doubt I will do either but the Premier Accelerator is clearly the better deal

The discountinity at 11,000 PQMs is odd, nearly the same price as 10,000 ?????
