Terms and Conditions

* For this promotion, only dollars spent on the "fare" on eligible flights operated by United and United Express will qualify toward meeting spending milestones. Certain specialty tickets, including but not limited to unpublished, consolidator/bulk, group, tour and opaque fares, will not be counted towards spending milestones. Dollars spent on tickets purchased for flights operated by a Star Alliance member airline or a MileagePlus partner airline with tickets issued by United (ticket number starting with "016") will not qualify for this offer. The "fare" is the base fare of the ticket plus carrier-imposed surcharges, excluding any government-imposed taxes and surcharges. For tickets purchased in a currency other than U.S. dollars, we will convert the purchase to U.S. dollars using an industry-standard exchange rate. Please note that the price displayed when purchasing a ticket on united.com includes up to a 7.5% U.S. Federal Transportation Tax on the base amount of the fare on itineraries wholly within the United States. This tax also applies to certain itineraries between the United States and Canada or Mexico. The U.S. Federal Transportation tax will not count toward meeting any spending milestone.

** For this promotion, bonus award miles will be awarded for each spending milestone that has been met, subject to the terms and conditions. Milestone bonuses may be earned only once. Partial bonuses will not be awarded for members who don't reach a certain milestone. All calculations made in connection with this offer will be made by United MileagePlus® in its discretion and considered final.

Only original recipients of this email invitation can register and participate in this promotion.
Registration is required by November 15, 2016. Only tickets purchased and ticketed after registration and within the ticketing dates will qualify.
Ticketing and dates: May 25, 2016, through November 30, 2016.
Dollars earned toward this promotion will count as Premier® qualifying dollars toward MileagePlus Premier status qualification, but do not guarantee status. All other qualification requirements must be met for the applicable Premier® status.
This offer is not combinable with other non-combinable offers.
Bonus award miles will post to your account six to eight weeks after the promotion ends on November 30, 2016. Bonus will be calculated using the originally ticketed fares and/or fare classes, as applicable, and subsequent changes to any fares and/or fare classes as a result of itinerary changes, complimentary or paid upgrades, purchase of travel products (including but not limited to United ClubSM, Premier Access®, Award Accelerator®, Premier AcceleratorSM), irregular operations or otherwise will not be considered.

If you received complimentary Premier status:

Your complimentary status is one level higher than the MileagePlus membership status reflected in your MileagePlus account on May 7, 2016. Your status will be not be increased to any other level in connection with this offer. Qualifying for a higher status level than the complimentary status awarded in connection with this offer requires meeting the published qualification thresholds for Premier status.
The complimentary status is valid through January 31, 2017.
A Premier membership card and kit will be not issued for the complimentary status period. Your new benefits will be reflected in your Mileage Plus account once you log in and you may enjoy Premier benefits on United- or United Express-operated flights by providing your account number when making reservations or at check-in.
During the complimentary status period, you may not have access to all reciprocal Premier benefits with United's partner airlines, including access to Star Alliance lounges.

If you received an Economy Plus subscription:

The Economy Plus® subscription can be used only on flights operated by United and United Express in the 48 contiguous U.S. states (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).
The Economy Plus subscription is complimentary, and will not result in the subscriber earning Premier qualifying dollars. The subscription is neither changeable nor transferable.
The Economy Plus subscription is valid through January 31, 2017, and can be used to request an Economy Plus seat at no cost on flights between May 10, 2016, and January 31, 2017. Any flights taken after January 31, 2017, will not qualify under the Economy Plus subscription.

Obviously you've been prudent enough to not spend too much on UA - my offer for the same amount of miles was about a $20k spend lol....

My daughter -- no status -- got this rather reasonable offer:

My MM companion who earned Plat last year was not eligible!

I know lots of the operational folks at UA and they are all good people - very experienced and solid - the marketing team (which I don't know so well) seems to be completely lost and desperate (or outsourced) - meaning that the corporate leadership team is either a) out of control or b) clueless as to reality of the situation or c) totally panicked. None of which is good.

I have almost the EXACT same offer as you, and also the majority (all so far this year) of my flights are on codeshares operated by LH/LX so while I'll hit 1K easily including the min spend, I can't see $12,500 of it going to UA metal so I won't hit my first milestone of $12.5K. My GF however starts getting her bonuses at $5K Which is doable if we take a few transcons this year. (I guess we have to as 4 flights must be on UA metal anyway )

** I never even actually got the offer, my GF did but I plugged in my number and was eligible (rare for me), just at higher spends then her

LOL

UA are rewarding me for carrying on spending the way I am. So far this year:

PQD ~$8k
PQM ~90k
Reward miles ~ 70k

Thanks UA!

Exact same spend with slightly lower earnings - 20/29/48. ...!!!

I spent substantially more last year but have already moved some premium flights to other airlines due to UA slap of 1ks.

Actually, I think they are rewarding us for spending the way we already are .... plus some.

Right now, I am sitting at around $32,000 PQD. My offer starts rewarding me at $38,500 additional PQD spend, and gives me 214,000 miles at $42,500 additional PQD spend ... My projected spend is (currently) approximately $65,000 PQD at my current pace. They are pushing me to spend an extra $5,500 - $9,500 in return for 214,000 bonus miles.

I don't think I am going to make it.... Too bad the promotion does not apply to PQD's already accrued this year (or PQD's associated with purchased tickets before the promo started today).

My calculations so far indicate that this promotion rewards those with lower spend requirements (correlates to lower status folks) FAR more (10-16 bonus miles / PQD) than UA's HVF's (5-8 bonus miles / PQD).

This promotion appears to be even more disappointing than the last, as UA is now diluting the pool of award miles by giving them to those with lower status....

The last 2 weeks have seen a huge influx of new Silver, Gold, Platinum, and 1K folks (less E+ seats close-in), and now diluted miles with this promotion, which will certainly cause reduced award inventory.

Enough ranting on this forum. Next step is a note to UA customer care voicing my concerns (likely to fall on deaf ears).... at least I will feel better for the moment when I push the send button.

This just seems like an incredibly rich offer. You can spend $4k less and receive 69,000 more miles than mine. Good for you but not sure how to take mine.

Ok, are any two offers the same? Is UA data mining to connect our FT handle with our MP#?

Nah - their focus seems to be screw HVF broadly - no need to identify us individually.

It's tough to feel sorry for a company that calls its best passengers "over entitled", changes all of the rules for earning status and miles, and then screws over all of those people that actually stuck with them through it all and earned it - this - like the other new programs - is a massive slap in the face to those loyal flyers that actually made an effort to EARN their miles and status and played by all the rules that UA put in place....

This must be the first promotion that I got from UA. Looks like everyone is getting an offer . Not a bad offer, spend $12k get 109k bonus miles. I was excited until I saw UA metal only . That might be a killer for me since some of my plans through November includes LH, LX and NH. I think UA is getting heat they are looking for ... I am thinking about re-routing some on UA now ... Hmmm ... It's a lot of miles ... But I could buy on LH metal and upgrade to F ...

Currently at 96,786 PQM and $19,776. Will cross 100,000 next Tuesday and spend will increase to $21,206.

My offer is;
Milestone 1: spend $25,000 and earn 31,000 bonus award miles
Milestone 2: spend $27,500 total and earn 47,000 more award miles
Milestone 3: spend $30,000 total and earn 78,000 more award miles

Will probably hit all of the above milestones before the deadline but they should have been doing something like this earlier in the year and based upon previous year spend!
