Consolidated: Is united.com or parts of it down?
Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:
Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

Living in Japan I of course the Japanese site pulls up. But it always pops up in Japanese. Even after I sign in, each and every single time I have to manually request the change to "Japanese site in English". Is there really no way it the site can remember my preference post sign-in?

Nope - I split my time between Japan and New York - and no matter what I do at my apartment in Tokyo it simply will not remember that I want the english site - and its been this way for years.... To get around this I bookmarked the "en-us" version of the site - makes it easier... Going to united.com just makes life miserable for me outside of the US....

My preference (account) was changed to Japan as my location. I guess someone hacked my account (not really).

Nope - I split my time between Japan and New York - and no matter what I do at my apartment in Tokyo it simply will not remember that I want the english site - and its been this way for years.... I am aware of that option, but I do like my fares displayed in Yen ( and they are many times cheaper than the US$ fare ).

Couple of small improvements
Two of the things I sent feedback on appear to have changed.
It used to be that if I did a flight search using 2 Seniors when I selected the same search from the Recent Searches droplist it had been changed to 2 Infants and would err out unless changed back. That appears to have been fixed.
It used to be that any search that was already on the Recent Searches list was left in its original position if you ran it again. That meant that the occasional searches would eventually cause the searches for trips you were trying to track, and running frequently, to eventually scroll of the end of the list. Now, it looks like they are putting searches on the top of the list, even if they were already on the list. This will cause searches you do more frequently to stay on the list, which I like.
Two small things, I know, but maybe a small sign of progress?
Had three days in a row when all my round trip searches completed properly (using Edge/Windows 10), so was going to add this to the list as a big thing. Sorry to say, though, that both the ones I tried this morning erred out.

Today I got the dreaded error code "We are unable to process your request. Please see the message below for details." repeatedly when trying to book an award ticket. That is extremely frustrating. Plus all of a sudden the pax number is static at "1" although I have ticked the "2 adult" box. In order to correct this I have to add or subtract one pax and then correct it back to "2". However, the next time I search it's back to "1".

Had the same issue yesterday. Pulled up a past search and it said 1 although when I did the drop down 2 was selected. I had to raise it and then take it back to 2. That seemed to work. Crazy how unstable it all is.

I have 3 trips pending but on the home page clicking on the "My Trips" box (even when fully logged in) does not take me to my reservations but instead asks for confirmation number, etc. A few months ago this info showed up automatically when I logged in and clocking the box took me to a full list of pending reservations.
What gives? I've searched for a site setting I am missing but cannot find anything.

After I did that and it found my entered trip, all my 10+ reservations showed back up.

I don't doubt that this works. But I go to "My Reservations" because I don't have the PNR code handy and certainly don't remember it. That go-around wouldn't work for me.

FWIW I couldn't even do a simple CLE-LGA revenue booking last night, kept getting error messages and the system reverting my one-way query to a round-trip query, and so on. Really ridiculous.

Noticed a new one today...at least for me.
Under premiere status qualification section on the home page, four flight segment minimum now shows 0/waived.
I have WAY over 4 UA/UAX segments, and I don't think I qualify for any waiver for this.
All my most recent activity is gone from my home page as well....maybe they are starting the holiday weekend early.
