The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=1647&fli ghtDate=11%2F30%2F2015&origin=EWR&destination=SFO

https://mobile.united.com/FlightStat...estination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination as necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement.

You may also check the specific fleet variant of each flight at the United Cargo site under "Schedules & tracking". This data tends to be reliable starting 7 days in advance, but is always subject to change.

N74856

Did N74856 and N75854 break down in OGG?

I was scheduled on N75854 on 3/27 (UA1289) BOS-SFO and it looks like they've substituted the 753 with a 752 (UA2081).

Looking at the flight data on united.com, it looks like N548UA has been picking up pieces of the N75854 and the N74856 schedule for the past couple of days...

It looks like 3856 went tech in OGG after 1725/23Mar.
3854 returned to OGG after takeoff today as 1728/25. Sked to exit OGG 3 hours late.

I'm a little confused and I was wondering if someone could help me out with an answer.

I'm flying on a 737-800 tomorrow and according to the amenities section, there is no DTV. This aircraft does have the new slimline seats so I didn't think it would have it. However, the United fleet website says it does have DTV. Has the website simply not been updated to include the removal of DTV that I assume was removed when they switched to the slimline seats?

What's the tail (ship #)?

All 738s (excluding the GUM based birds) are getting DTV.

It has DTV. 272 is former mid-lav bird and upon removal of the mid-lav will also be getting DTV installed, slimlines, WiFi, scimitars, removing the AUX galley at 2R adding a dual FA jumpseat at 2R & moving one of the rear lavatories from 2L to 2R.

I wonder why the United app doesn't mention DirecTV when the plane does have it. It even says PDE is coming soon which wouldn't make sense if it has DTV.

Website issue. The first few mid-lav 738s that were converted also had the wrong information but was soon corrected.

http://www.united.com/web/en-US/apps...s/results.aspx
263 that was a former mid-lav bird and had drop down monitors now has DTV.

273 another former mid-lav bird that had drop down monitors now has DTV.

Basically the company wants all mainland based 738s to be identical in terms of configuration and amenities.

I notice on the fleet site that the 787-8 and 787-9 both say "not yet" under Channel 9. Isn't this replaced by "from the flight deck" through the seatback on-demand system?

Yes and no.

On all IPTE aircraft (i.e. sUA 747, 777, etc.) the ATC feed is available via "From the Flight Deck" when LISTEN is selected on the "Audio" menu. Here on FT we still call it "Channel 9" even though there are no numerical channels. When I ask a Captain if it will be available, I say, "Might you be able to make ATC available today via the audio system?"

Same will be true of the 787s. But the 787s haven't had the capability installed yet, so the selection is not active.

Wifi Int 3-Class 767-300?

Are these planes getting WiFi as well? And if so any already in service?
United.com says:

767
currently 10 planes
20% CompletePlane Status
Estimated fleet completion: July 2015
Any idea what routes these are flying? or is this only the 767-400?
