What do they call it?

Three One Two. It's the area code for downtown.

Here is what announced from United.

United is adding award winning 312 Urban Wheat Ale craft beer to our beverage offering beginning July 1. Inspired by the city of Chicago and densely popu- lated with flavor, 312’s spicy aroma of Cascade hops is followed by a crisp, fruity ale flavor deliv- ered in a smooth, creamy body that's immensely refreshing.

Two cans of 312 craft beer will replace one can each of Budweiser® and Miller Lite® in premium cabins and United Economy drawers as follows:
Premium cabins:
3-Heineken,®
2-Miller Lite,
1-Budweiser,
2-312 Urban Wheat Ale.
United Economy:
3-Heineken,
2-Miller Lite,
2-Budweiser,
2-312 Urban Wheat Ale.
312 Urban Wheat Ale will only be provisioned by U.S. caterers; therefore, interna-
tional caterers will provision Heineken in lieu of 312 when restocking bar carts.

Does that mean no 312 on international flights leaving the US?

Is this the inventory for every plane? Does an A319 have the same inventory as a 747?

This is the inventory per drawer, not per plane. Confusion about this has resulted in much unjustified consternation.

And now the phone-shaped tap handles make sense! Thanks.

I had one for the first time a little over a week ago on IAH-ORD. I also had to tell the FA it was "the new beer." It was better than any other beer I've had on a plane, but I still went with a bourbon for my second drink.

Thank you for un-consternating me.

They had it on my IAH-MUC flight a couple weeks ago. ^

Had it both ways IAD-CDG and LHR-IAD...

I'd expect you could count on it ex-US and, at least with a sample of 1, ex-Intl. On the IAD-CDG outbound, when I asked for it, the FA hadn't heard of it and didn't know what I was talking about. After a little urging, she searched the cart and found the 312. Comped it (I was in Y) saying thanks for letting her know about the new option.

I flew IAD -NRT and asked for a 312. FA had no idea what I was talking about. They did not have any on board.

Why is it so hard for management to inform the FAs about new products onboard?

Why is it so hard for FAs to be proactive and observe new products in the carts?

Yeah, it's all the FAs' fault. UA should just make changes and wait for the FAs to figure it out without support. The ones that don't are clearly incompetent. It's not like they have a difficult and time-consuming job or anything.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sorry -- guess I was expecting too much, as that's what I would do if I had that kind of job. I will have to lower my expectations.

Yes, I'm sure you understand everything about being an FA so that you can assess that, and I'm sure that if you had that job you'd spend your time digging through the drink cart drawers to see if the beer selection that's been the same for years had randomly changed. And I'm sure your employer would be giving you all kinds of incentives to be proactive...
