For those who got tickets, do you see a SQ confirmation number? I only see United's PNR and I'm wondering what this means...

PaulInTheSky Jul 7, 2012 9:39 pm

Great find! However, it was too late for my multiple trip PNR to get ticketed. Not the best days as I hesitated too long. All the long-haul(Cs and Fs) in peak seasons are almost all gone. I managed to grab EWR-SIN A340 C and JFK-FRA-SIN C, but the latter one is not the best time. Still trying to modify the dates.

Nothing. The UA website rarely shows SQ confirmation numbers for any bookings.

It's in there for me.

Probably.

My ticket numbers just issued. Still not sure I'm actually going to be able to use the tickets, but glad to have them booked just in case.

gaijinjapan Jul 7, 2012 10:03 pm

Shortly after booking I received the ticket confirmation with my eticket #. Two hours later I now have my seat assignment.
It looks like this should work (I hope).

USFdonWill Jul 7, 2012 10:04 pm

Booked one new reservation and modified another one both in SQ F...hopefully they are honored. Nothing lost if SQ does not follow through.

SFWanderer Jul 7, 2012 10:06 pm

My husband and I currently hold seats on UA F HKG-SFO. I tried to grab 2 seats per dot bomb but res says SQ shows 1 F however 2 in J are available.

Agent stated that until SQ comes back to confirm the reservation, UA will not cancel the original ticket. So there isn't a risk to anyone with existing reservations.^

My question, give up 2 UA F's for SQ J?

gpeso8 Jul 7, 2012 10:07 pm

If flights are changed are eventually changed...

In the event that UA changes my SQ booking SFO-HKG-SIN to UA operated flights, can I cancel and redeposit, without a fee?

I never clicked any buttons to OK this (and don't have any pending CC charges in this amount).

Indeed, my current UA receipt shows the correct charges.

Am just a little concerned that if there are any changes that require reticketing, UA will decide it needs to charge me for an upsale.

I have something similar on an itinerary I booked last year, but had to have re-ticketed recently. I called United about the weird apparent purchase of extra miles (which is NOT reflected on the receipt). Reservations could not see it and advised me to ignore it. Said that the reservation is ticketed and there should be no problems.

Oddly, my husband and son, who are on another PNR, do not show the erroneous extra miles notation, though their tickets were reissued at the same time as mine.

Oh heck yeah. The only thing you lose is the IFL in HKG.

USFdonWill Jul 7, 2012 10:25 pm

I am seeing availability dry up right in front of me...

jasonvr Jul 7, 2012 10:30 pm

Glimmer of hope on my change. I looked up my booking via the LH site using my LH PNR (LH flights on the itin). It is showing my JFK-FRA leg in SQ I and it's got the little green check which "indicates that the airline has confirmed your request. This confirmation is subject to modifcation (e.g. schedule changes)."

andrewket Jul 7, 2012 10:33 pm

I can't find anything that will let me book. It bombs out.

Due to rapidly changing partner availability the following flights are no longer available. Please choose another flight or modify your search criteria.

Singapore Airlines flight SQ334 - 2/15/2013 - 11:55 p.m. - Singapore, Singapore (SIN) to Paris, France (CDG)

That is because a LOT (more than 100 or 200 people as someone originally stated) are booking SQ tickets in F right now, and availability is changing. I tried booking the IAH-MOW-SIN flight and someone grabbed it before me. I alone have changed 4 awards and booked another 2 on SQ using miles that were just sitting around in case this gets honored...

FederalFlyer Jul 7, 2012 10:38 pm

Just booked 2 in F from SFO-SIN-SFO May 27, 2013 - June 9, 2013. Fingers crossed this holds up since I ended up having to buy about 8,000 miles to complete the deal (which I would not have purchased for UA F).

Looks like SQ no longer showing on UA.com

You shouldn't have any problem. Just claim that the UA flights don't fit your schedule.

SQ1 leaves right SFO after midnight and arrives in SIN around 11:55 am.
UA869/895 leaves at 1:25 pm and arrives after midnight.

SQ1/SQ15 SFO-SIN still show in October-November.

Where is it shown? I can't see any SQ number in mine.
I have automatic seat assignments, but (not yet) any way of changing them online or over the phone.

Just changed my return flights from the KRK DO to include DME-IAH in F. Thanks OP!

UrbaneGent Jul 7, 2012 10:49 pm

I just now booked SQ F JFK-FRA-NCE on the A380 in September for my parents as a gift. I can't believe it! I think SQ will honour it, we shall see...

I can't BELIEVE it! Hilarious!

UG

Got auto seat assignments too on both SQ and LH flights!

convert Jul 7, 2012 10:50 pm

I am confirmed for sfo to sin. I am praying that singapore air doesnt cancel this. My wife is so excited that i might have to buy the ticket if they do.

There is no F on the A380, the highest cabin in offered is Suites class.

piemel Jul 7, 2012 10:53 pm

Most first gone

Worth it to go for business?

FriendlySkies Jul 7, 2012 10:54 pm

Booked JFK-SFO-SIN in F on p.s. & SQ. I've never flown SQ before, so this is going to be a great way to start my 2013 RTW ^

Ummmm, you sure about that? JFK-FRA is the 388 which doesn't have F, it has R (Suites) which is not available for redemption by anyone ever IIRC.

I got 1A/2A both coming going - 6A/6C FRA-NCE and 3A/3C NCE-FRA 135,000 x 2 = 270,000 miles (updated to confirm)

If your reservation "sticks", DO NOT call SQ to change the 388 F class seats or do anything else to alert SQ of your reservation. ;)

That is Suite class seat assignment. Did you book them through PPS or other *A carriers?

apk123 Jul 7, 2012 11:05 pm

Made a change to my award ticket. I still saw availability on my old routing before making the change, so I hope that if there are new developments in the next day or so I will be able to re-book my old award. If not, I sure hope UA will do the right thing and put me on their metal.

What would an F award be on an SQ A380 route if not suites? Looks like at least some people have confirmed seat assignments that appear to be R suites on the 380.

The thing is that these availabilities seem to be taken out of Krisflyer's inventory (SQ F/J isn't impossible if you have KF miles, it's actually very available). However, even Krisflyer members cannot redeem for Suites through F inventory.

On the A380, only R, J, and Y exist.

Typically (and I realize that we are currently squarely outside of "typical" right now) there was no such thing as an F redemption on an SQ A380. Simply didn't exist because Suites are not available for awards. I do wonder how seats were assigned so quickly, especially since the whole SQ system is down right now.

spideysense Jul 7, 2012 11:11 pm

What are the odds they cancel the rewards?

I booked 2 x J on the a380 to SIN via LHR and am looking for 2 x F as well via aeroplan.

Do you think they could cancel these? What is the precedent?

OskiBear Jul 7, 2012 11:14 pm

Snagged biz seats on SQ37 (LAX-SIN Non-stop) and a return through NRT on SQ12 (NRT-LAX A380).

Unbelievable if these stick. Both are dream flights for me!

Oh, and it was in FEB2013 so the availability is still there!

How did you assign seats? The SQ website is down, plus I don't see an SQ PNR in my confirmation on .sux
