May 2020
We’re making some changes to the Million Miler program. Starting May 4, 2020, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be giving bonus miles for each Million Miler level achieved above 1 million miles. As a result, we will be retiring our gift site and ask that if you wish to select a gift you do so by May 31, 2020. If no gift is selected, we will deposit bonus miles into your account to show our appreciation for your continued loyalty.

Read WineCountries entire sentence, Even mentions the small plaque. I would not consider that a real "gift" like 2MM and above get.

And he says nobody has received one in the past ten years. Thus, the disagreement.

I would, and I suspect most people would as well. Not everyone evaluates gifts by their resale value. To me, the vaunted Tumi bag is just another shopping bag, and I get those for free all the time. But I know to others, it's considered more. And in either event, it's still a gift.

If you wish to consider a plexigas plaque as a gift fine ... but I think we are wasting space to even have this meaningless discussion - the plaque was noted in the original post. Please see what is noted in the wiki -- any further disagreement?

As far as I can tell, the Wiki is correct. I just wanted to clarify the discrepancy.

Clearing up confusion is never a waste of time or space.

I'm reading this thread in anticipation of reaching 2MM in early May. So, they're no longer giving 3 GPUs as a MM gift?

Bummer.

I already have all the Tumi I need, and none of the other gifts looks particularly tempting. I suppose it's nice that they're giving something, but not so nice when the second million miles was worth about $90k in business to UA.

I didn't get a plaque when I earned 1MM in 2007. I don't really need one, but still...

There was a plague? I feel cheated, but I made my 1st MM back in 2005, so it may not apply then.

Just want to say the lifetime RCC membership has been great to have.

The gift that keeps on giving. ^

Actually, mine expires in 2099.

There was a time when lifetime club memberships expired in the year 9999.

The "plaque" is just one of those magnetized clear business card holders. 2 pieces of plexiglass that get held together by corner magnets designed to hold a business card. Can probably go buy one for $3 at your local stationary store. UA prints a paper card with your name and 1MM on it and year and put it inside. You can ask UA Insider to get you one but it will have 2016 on it, they can't print previous years. I had them send me one.

I have this el cheapo plaque for 2MM and nearly tossed it in the bin.

But it's now holding down expenses receipts waiting the scanned.

Oh, I would have loved to trade in my Tumi computer bag (still wrapped in plastic) for a lifetime membership to the UC (expiring in 2099 )

Part of me wants to put the Tumi up on eBay, part of me wants to hang on to it

Got my 2MM gift request - when do I see 6 GPUs in my account?

Hi,

I hit 2MM on a UA flight on 3/10. I received a request for a gift. I received acknowledgement of that milestone from UA MP on 3/24, along with the link to request a gift. I still do not see GPUs appearing on my account page. When should I expect to see those reflected in my account?

Thanks.

Did you also hit 100K PQM? That's when you get six GPUs. You don't get six for hitting 2MM by itself.

You don't get GPU's as a platinum. If you are already Plat, you don't get EXTRA RPU's for 2MM. If, at the beginning of the year, you did not achieve Plat status by flying, you will get 2 2 RPU's. Again, these are not in addition to any you have earned.

Thanks for the info. Are GPUs given to 1 million miler flyers? I seem to recall that they were when I hit that milestone, but I may be wrong. Definitely bummed out that hitting 2 million doesn't get GPUs.:-(

Well, at least now I can book award travel without feeling I need to pay and use international upgrades, as I had planned to do.
