United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. Booked on SQ 22 arriving at 0630 in J, considering booking EWR-DCA at 0850 (Republic E170) or EWR-IAD at 1022 (UA A320) on separate ticket. Have Global Entry & pre-check. Assume I'll have to shlep bags to Terminal C or A. If I miss EWR-DCA next flight isn't until 1250. Any thoughts on which flight to book?

I think immigration and customs in B will be quiet in the morning, but you'll be slowed down by baggage claim. Even then, I think 2hrs 20mins is ample time to make the DCA flight - there are monitors and UA baggage re-check in B so no need to carry your luggage between B (IIRC it will be to your right when you exit the customs check) and A/C.

I think I would save the hassle of getting the EWR-DCA segment added to your claim tag at CEB and just get it done at EWR since you'll have to collect your bags for customs anyways. The UA check-in/baggage drop area in B never seems to be too busy.

International to domestic at EWR - short connect time
Hi. Flying back from Israel on ua91, the United redeye that lands into Newark Terminal C at 430am. I connect to a united flight to Iah that will also leave from C. I have a 1 hour 25 minute connect time. Taking The next flight to Houston would mean a 3.5 hour connect time.
I’m a us citizen, sitting in business on both legs, no global entry or PreCheck. Have not decided on whether I will check a bag.
Is there a dedicated security line for transit passengers at Newark? Odds that I make the short connection?

There is no "transit" concept for USA airports. As an arriving passenger from outside the USA, you will have to do USA customs and immigration at EWR. You will then exit outside security and then will need to do security to get airside. There is no fast track for doing that.
If you don't have GE, get the "mobile passport" app on your phone.

I am looking at a PHX-EWR-ARN flight, conn. time at EWR (1h15). First leg is UA, second is SK. Would that be okay-ish? Transfer would be from C (most likely) to B?
Would I be that arrogant to say that there will be time for lounge access?

If your flight is on time that should be enough. There is an airside bus from C->B. That may also afford you some time in the SK lounge. But any delay of more than 25-30 minutes on EWR arrival and you'll likely be miscnnecting.

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but was surprised to see a United mainline 757 at an EWR Terminal A gate this morning. Was about 8AM, and I think it was at Gate 23.
I went by Gate 23 once inside the terminal, but there was no flight showing on the board at the gate.
A check of the tail number on Flight Aware shows it left EWR from Gate 81 at 10:28 AM to fly to SFO as flight UA1991
The previous entry shows arriving at Gate 126 last night at 8:42 PM
Have to wonder why it ended up at the A terminal for a bit....

Arrive EWR Term B at 1530 ex DUB with EIN and then connect with UA to RSW at 2000 Term B, I have preclearance (immigration) at Dublin so effectively the flight becomes a domestic arrival. Two questions please, do I have to claim my checked bags and will I have to go through security at Terminal C. Thanks.

To be clear, if EI (I think you meant EI) has checked your bags to RSW, you will not reclaim and drop them at EWR because, as you note, you have precleared CBP at DUB. However, if you are on separate tickets (I'm presuming one ticket because otherwise not a connection) and EI has not checked through to UA, the bags will be delivered as standard domestic bags and you will then take them and check them in with UA.
