737-900 is a 767-200
On flight 1178 IAH-SFO on 7/7/12. Seatmap map is showing a 767-200 (I think) but lists it as a 737-900. I sure hope it is as I actually bought a Z fare on this flight.

I currently can't do anything on UA.com, can't log in, can't search for flights, can't check flight status. I receive error messages.
Update: Seems like it was about a 10 minute outage, likely comparable to what other people have reported |
Unable to find any sensible partner flights on UA.bomb search engine between HNL and either BNE or NAN. What I mean to say is all of the search results start with a UA flight to the mainland US (SFO) and then go to SYD, then AUK, then final dest. for double+ the price of ANZ... (*A partner) flights, which route HNL. AUK, then destination. Crazy.

What's up with the exclamation point prepended to error messages, by the way? |

Does anyone know if the on line upgrade list is actually working? I've checked in to a flight, but the upgrade list is showing no passengers. (I am using the manual URL in order to see the list on mobile.bomb - as instructed on another thread.)
I have connecting flights to the international leg. The intl leg is still over 24 hours a way. in PMCO I would still be added to the list. Is this no longer true? Was told for sure I was on list and would appear within 24 hours. Big shocker, I'm not on the list. |
No Advance Passport Validation

I take it this has to be done at the kiosk during check-in? For example, can I just go to the airport now and show my passport, for travel later this week? (sorry for sounding dumb, it's been a while since I traveled internationally.) By the way, is it really important to have the passport number saved in United.com? It doesn't seem to want to save.
Yesterday at SNA thought I'd see if I could get my passport validated. Tried using the kiosk, didn't work. All agents were busy, so instead of waiting went up to the UC. Asked the nice young agent why when I tried to use my passport to check in at the kiosk it wouldn't work. Was told the agent had to first swipe her card in the kiosk before you could use it with a passport. Personally I found it amusing, given many of the self service kiosks with the passport readers are right inside the terminal door and no agents are in sight. More or less defeats the purpose of a self service kiosk when you cannot use it without agent intervention. Moving on, I then asked if the young lady could validate my passport and got an affirmative reply, so I was encouraged. That is until she found out I was only going to SFO, at which point she handed me back my passport. The validation can only be done on the day of international travel, not in advance, at least according to her. When I expressed my displeasure at this (and several other) CO "enhancements" to the system , she asked (in all seriousness) if I had written to Mr. Smisek, as she was sure he'd like to hear my thoughts. I declined. |
No GPU standby upgrade list and no answers
This is really frustrating. Nobody at UA seems to know why the upgrade standby list is not populating. They even called the airport. I was given all sorts of reasons (BF is full, you really are on waitlist...) but bottom line is that nobody has answers.
The only ppl on the list are those that were given standby seats. Very not happy! |
I ended up going to the airport exactly at check-in, 24 hours before we were scheduled to leave. Used the kiosk and scanned our passports and printed out our boarding passes. One benefit to living in a small town where you are 5 minutes from anything. (one downsize is we are 3 hours from anything worthwhile :))
By the way, how long does the system remember your passport? 6 months? 1 year? Should I check in with my passport every chance I get to keep it fresh? |
Master List Addition: Negative Initial Balances
UA Insider:
I have one addition that has still not made the master list. I and many other fliers have reported negative initial balances in the mileage summary for the PQM. In my specific case it's been a couple different negative numbers, 0, negative again, and now back to 0. Others are still reporting negative values. Edit: And now my most recent flight posted, and I'm back to negative |

Strange (lack of) Exit Row Availability
On the last 4 flights I have taken, all on smaller regional jets, there has been no availability for exit row seats. However, when getting on the plane, I have notices that all of the seats are being filled with deadheads who were on standby.
I have now also seen this for my EWR-TLV today. There was no exit row or bulkhead available for weeks. Then last night almost all of those seats were filled with Standby passengers. Anyone know what's going on? Is this a bug? |

An issue that just popped up (which I'm sure has been raised before) is that I had miles and segments post for a recent flight, but then disappear the next day. They have not reappeared in the last 2 days.
