One can no longer apply an upgrade instrument to just one leg of a flight online, e.g. I have a short flight that would clear on request, using my instrument but the 5 hour flight would be wait listed. One now has to call to do this.
Thank you CO! This will increase costs, hold times and client frustrations. What are you guys thinking? NOT. |

I cannot believe that some idiot on the Integation Committee decided that the PIECE OF SH** CO system was the right system to adopt. Whoever that person was should be summarily dragged naked by their heels by a mule through a cobblestone and glass street.....and then shot. This SUCKS!!! . /rantoff I did hear from a purser that UA might be in a position to buy back the reservation system that they had developed, sold and subsequently leased back, when they ran into trouble after Sept. 11. The company that bought that system is in financial trouble at this point. We can only hope! Apparently, SCARES was cheaper in that they wouldn't have to lease it, so the merged airline adopted it. Not working out so far IMO :( |

Are miles of any kind just not posting at all? I have a round trip thats over a week old and deapite MPSC "taking care" of resubmitting without ON code neither that flight nor the return have posted. Also, nothing else has posted in the last week either- no CC miles, TopGuest, etc |

Only an issue for RPUs since GPUs are redeposited if the int'l segment doesn't clear, right?

Still can't use GPUs on EWR-HNL in the el-cheapy fare classes. Of course there is upgradeable space FTM.

This has probably been discussed, but I'll weigh in.
One can no longer apply an upgrade instrument to just one leg of a flight online, e.g. I have a short flight that would clear on request, using the instrument but the 5 hour flight would be wait listed. One now has to call to do this. However, I recently saw this happen automatically to one of my RPU upgrades. I'm pretty sure that this is an integration-related glitch, but there is a 0.000001% possibility that the system intelligently guessed that I really wanted to upgrade only the LAX-IAD segment:D. |

ROFL and it seems that CO's system may not be built to handle the things that United customers have come to take for granted, as well as the sheer volume of customers. I don't know the pre-merger passenger and flight volumes of each airline, and I thought that UA was the higher-volume company. Upon talking with CO flyers, it seems that they were generally less, um, demanding than UA customers. If those things are true (not sure they are, and i've got my flameproof suit on) then the new pss may not be able to handle all it needs to.
It does make on wonder if the upper management really understands the tasks they have taken on. |
crappy CO system

No worries, I thought, I'll put myself on seat change request list when I get to the airport and they'll bump me to Econ+. WRONG. Apparently in the "new" (aka OLD Continental system) they don't have a seat change request list. So I am STUCK in Economy, with no hope whatsoever of changing into an Econ+ seat (unless I sit at the gate agent's desk and hound her to check her seat map every 3 min) for 3+ hours from DEN to IAD. today. United, I have tolerated all of the crap with this merger up ...until now. I HAVE HAD IT UNITED! /rant I cannot believe that some idiot on the Integation Committee decided that the PIECE OF SH** CO system was the right system to adopt. Never seen that before. There was no equipment change. What a crappy CO system. But SMI/J wants a cheap, inferior system. :td::td::td::td: It sucks, period. |

Don't know if this is normal or not. I have several pre 3/3 reservations booked through the old UA. I have received email notifications that 4 separate segments have cleared GPU and I have been upgraded Y > C. When I log in to select seats, there to greet me is the ominous red warning "A modification has been made to your itinerary. Please contact United Reservations to have your ticket reissued.”
I am able to successfully select my seats, but this has no impact on the presence of the red warning. Even if I log out and log back in, the message remains. Obediently, I call in, sometimes with an hour wait, and the agent successfully removes the warning. Is this normal? Do I need to call in each time I receive an upgrade and have the ticket reissued? Seems like a terrible waste of time and begs for some kind of automation.

Please see the master post at the beginning of this thread. Well known flaw. Easily handled by sending your PNR to UA Insider by PM.

I did see the master post at the beginning of this thread. Maybe my question should have been posted in a separate thread. My question is: Is this a well known flaw that requires calling into an agent each time you receive an upgrade notification to have a ticket reissued (If I'm supposed to PM UA Insider each time, she will have a full time job just dealing with upgrades)., or is this an issue that has only arisen out of the conversion of old UA reservations?
I do as I am told :D Lurker :) |
