They are gone from the websites.

Maybe you can try your luck by calling UA or Chase to see if they still offer them. MP Select that has 3-2-1 earning structure, 5K RDMs, and up to 5K EQMs was a great card

Got my card in the mail today. Was not instantly approved (got the we'll let you know by mail within 2 weeks). Called to activate and the nice Chase lady asked about why I signed up for the card and I told her it was the generous miles offering

She confirmed my UA mileage account and said I would received my 50k bonus miles after first purchase and that everything for the offer is great. I'm a current Chase checking/savings customers and OPP cardholder.

Does it take a couple months to receive your 50k miles? I got my Explorer card 2 weeks ago and made a 13$ purchase on it at that time. No miles credited yet. Just curious.

I believe they say they can take up to 6-8 weeks, but I believe people have been reporting getting them shortly after their first statement.

If you are needing 25,000 miles real quick for travel or other purposes, don't hold your breath. I've spent over a grand on this card, called CS twice to ask for the bonus miles to be posted and was told "one to two billing cycles" each time. Also, your miles that you earn with regular spending do not post until the end of each billing cycle. If you want to add another user they send you a form that you've gotta send back, blah blah blah, takes forever. How dumb. I was used to Delta AMEX cards which give you the mileage right away, boom, it's there.
I am persona non grata at United, though, so maybe if you have status you get better service- ?

Wow. Sorry to hear about your bad experiences.

FWIW, I am a non-Elite at UA and I had quite the opposite experience with the Explorer card so far. My bonus credited a week after my first purchase, but the purchase was very close to the end of the billing cycle so that may have something to do with it.

A quick way to get an authorized user is to use the form via your online Chase account. It was almost instant approval for my mothers p-card and the bonus for that credited at the same time as the 25K.

This offer is fulfilled by Chase, not by UA, so elites won't be getting better service.

The terms clearly state that it is 6-8 weeks, much like the one to two billing cycles as were quoted to you.

Not sure if anyone asked something similar ...

I have both the Chase United Mileage Plus Platinum Class Visa Signature and the new Chase United Mileage Plus Explorer Visa Signature. I need to book a flight this week and was wondering what everyone thought on which card to use. If it helps I have about 11,500 EQM so far this year. Which card is best? Thanks.

On of the Chase solicitors waved me down at ORD the other day, asking if I had the card. I told him I have the Select Visa and that I love the benefits (especially compared to the Explorer card) and have no intention of abandoning it. He told me the Select card is one of the best they ever offered and that "I would do exactly that if I were you. Don't give it up! Keep it as long as you can."

Highly doubtful. I believe they are gone.

I don't understand why CO is still advertising the OP Plus card

Go with the Platinum Class card. If I remember correctly, you get 1 EQM for every $1 on .bomb.

The Explorer card wont help much here since you are already a 2P.

Correct on that--in this situation, the EQM earned from the Plat card just might push reaper25 over the top. It did the same for me a couple of years ago.

But... the card's EQMs haven't made a practical difference since that year. How about the for the rest of you?

(That was one of the thoughts behind my earlier question about trading in the Plat card for the Explorer Business card, which would yield more RDM. It's still not as good as the Select card, though... and why did I have to remind myself about that again?)

The 10K EQM from that card got me just over the 1P thresholds in '06/'07 and the 1K amount in '09. It's an excellent product, esp. with the $140 waived every year. I just hope it doesn't get Jeff'd Up at some point.
