The rolling 7 day daily average for deaths is 6.1 today. At last, after a week or more of poor figures we have a day we have waited a long while for. 0 deaths reported for the UK which is the first time we have seen that since July 30th. Total jabs is also now well over 65 million. |

I'm keen to see how the hospitalisations are going since last reported date.

Happy to be corrected on this, but because of the recent rise in cases, many people are looking at the relationship between cases, hospital admissions and deaths. With 75% of adults having a first dose and 50% fully jabbed, hopefully the rise in cases doesn't mean a spike in hospitalisations and deaths.

Daily data:
Cases 4,330 (3,180 last Wednesday) Deaths 12 (9) Patients admitted 123 (130 on the 20th) Patients in hospital 923 (956 on the 24th) Patients in ventilation beds 136 (128 on the 25th) People vaccinated up to and including 01 June 2021: First dose: 39,585,665 Second dose: 26,073,284 The rolling seven day daily average for cases is now up 34.7% on the previous week and the same measure for deaths is down 14.8%. The rolling 7 day daily average for deaths is 6.6 today. The figure for deaths is pretty good considering we have had a weekend and bank holiday to delay data. Other hospital data is reasonably stable. |

Case growth is picking up though. Data from Scotland shows hospitalisations are 5% of cases (vs 10% before - vaccine effect), but at 5% of a high case number, it could still be an issue. Latest data showing the variant may be around 70% more transmissible, which if I remember correctly from that bojo press conference is actually a fair bit higher than his worst case scenario.

Hi,
Just received my nhs scotland blue envelope for my 2nd az Jab for 10th june at 330pm. this will be 11 weeks since my first jab. Regards Tbs |
My second jab appointment also came last night - bang on exactly eight weeks after the first. I was quite surprised to have received it already, seeing as it has only been a little under five weeks since the first one, but I'm not complaining, since I actually cannot make that date and will have to rearrange it anyway, so it's nice to have the notice.
(and instead of hiking out to Bearsden again, I will rearrange it for the Louisa Jordan this time!) |
BBC are reporting that there are to be no additions to the Green list this week.
"We've got to protect the progress that we've made here at home whilst of course allowing for travel when it's safe to do so. We've got to follow the data." as per Matt Handcock. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-57340860 No more countries or territories will be added to the UK's foreign travel green list today, the BBC understands. It is still possible that some countries will be removed from the green list. There is also a strong expectation that there will be additions to the red list. The full list of countries in the traffic light system is expected to be announced later. |
And now being widely leaked that Portugal is probably coming off the green list seemingly direct to amber (maybe no green watchlist) from Tuesday 8th June
Portugal to be taken off green list 13:45 Nick Eardley, Political correspondent It’s understood Portugal is being removed from the green list and will be added to the amber list from Tuesday. It follows a meeting this morning between the UK and devolved governments and advice from the joint biosecurity centre. Sources tell me this decision will be announced later. |
Further to the above, Sky is reporting that Portugal has been moved from the green list to the amber list.
Hopes of a summer holiday abroad have been dashed, with no new countries added to the UK's green travel list and Portugal moved to amber. |
What happened to the watch list and giving people notice?!
