The FAQ say you need to be eligible under the government guidelines, so in theory they shouldn’t be doing those in their 20s with no health conditions. There also seems to be a residency requirement, though how they will check that is an unknown. Interestingly it is first vaccines only.

They can do 29 year olds close to their 30th birthday. And, as I do, bend the "are you are carer?" question. A lot of elderly people informally depend on children and grandchildren for basic things like shopping and keeping their house in good order. We know from cell phone movements that people don't regard this as covered by the ban on household mixing, and I rather doubt they mask up when they visit Nan.

Can you say any more about what 'cell phone movements' means?

Second dose done for both of us, exactly seven weeks after the first.

Don't tell CWS! :D
Congrats!

Off to get my second dose in a couple of hours, I think I'm at 9 weeks and 2 days.

For those who are unvaccinted but want it, there appears to be vaccine hub groups on Facebook that you can tune into.

i was playing around on Facebook and saw a post that if I could get to my vaccine hub in 12 minutes I could do a walk in 2nd dose jab. I of course jumped at the opportunity as I met the 6 week spacing requirements and drove like a lunatic to get there in time. Following another lady in a fabia doing the same. The time between deciding to go and getting vaccinated was about 13 minutes.

I am super chuffed to be fully vaccinated but it will be another couple of weeks before I start licking door handles.

Congrats!

I did think I would be told off by CWS as I sat there about to get jabbed! Haha.

Apparently PHE are now saying the Indian variant is a whopping 70% more transmissible? Sounds like a disaster if that is true? I can't find a source.

It’s been quoted at up to 50% previously and I can’t see anything that contradicts that. There is a bit of a race against time - double vaccinated people v the spread of this variant. However most of the potentially affected local areas are not showing exponential growth so there is hope. DHSC are now working much better with the local directors of public health. One lesson learned from the centralise everything of lockdown 1.

All the charts I see show vaccine supplies dropping massively after the end of June whereas in the EU they are looking to vaccinate 12+ and have so many coming in over summer...hopefully the govt can fix this in time.

What a shambles: so despite going for an appt today, i still see the one scheduled online for next week (and my original one for Monday one). In theory I could have a 3rd and 4th vaccine by this time next week and the system would allow it it seems.

People have tried that, a couple of elderly patients, being of the sort that believe you always keep appointments come what may, have appeared for a booked second jab after getting elsewhere through another booking system. You wouldn’t get further than the vaccination room. As soon as they enter your details on the system, prior to vaccination, it will be clear that you’ve had your second jab.

Is there even anyone left to vaccinate after then?

Apparently our Pfizer numbers aren't great so even getting everyone 18+ done might be a challenge.

The US, Canada, and now EU are going to start vaccinating teenagers so if we choose the same strategy (which IMO we should in the face of the Indian variant), we need a whole lot of Pfizer/Moderna...

They havent approved vaccinating under 18's yet here, so until that happens assume it won't be the case. And don't forget J&J in July or so which is only one dose, 20 million of those ordered.
