Their Y+ product will surely be missed. I flew OSL-LAX return for 990 euros and on the 14 hour flight, what comfort for the price paid! Also flew VIE-HKG and that was also wonderful. Really sad to see this product go.

From Post #20 here by Turkish777X, TK will receive 8 777s this year.

http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo....main/6302577/

I don't know if anybody posted this so far, but here are the delivery dates for the new batch of 77Ws in 2015:

TC-JJVB777-3F2(ER)44119February 2015
TC-JJYB777-3F2(ER)44120March 2015
TC-JJZB777-3F2(ER)44122March 2015
TC-LJAB777-3F2(ER)44121April 2015
TC-LJBB777-3F2(ER)44124April 2015
TC-LJCB777-3F2(ER)44123September 2015
TC-LJDB777-3F2(ER)XXXX September 2015
TC-LJEB777-3F2(ER)XXXXDecember 2015

I know at least 3 will be used for HKG and SFO, another 3 for ORD and TPE, the other 2? My guess, most likely replacing current 777s with Y+ while those current 2 get Y+ removed.

At the moment you can get YYZ-IST-NRT for under $2000 USD, very tempting, but with new 777s coming in nothing is certain else I would not hesitate to book them.

Given all these changes with 777 product, can I expect comfort class in May from IST-GRU? Hesitant to book that...

Please book it and enjoy while you can. May should be safe (again, not 100% but should be fine) as most new 777s don't come in until the end of the year and those new frames are already spoken for other routes. I am talking about anything after September. I am really going to miss this along with Oman Air's 1-2-1 Business Class configuration, well, they were heavens while lasted.

Comfort Class gone for NRT

I am glad I held back as it's gone starting October this year, in fact, NRT will be flown with A333s only

That's a shame that we're losing CC to NRT, I've used it quite a few times on open-jaw itineraries (it's absurdly priced originating NRT) but I think the A333 is definitely an upgrade when flying business over both of the current planes used here. (yes I know the seat is the same as the 77W but it's 2-2-2 instead of 2-3-2.

It must be changed recently - I bought tickets with TK to NRT in October and it showed both legs are 77W. I got a notification for my booking that on the way back it will be a A330.

I wonder what happens to those who bought CC ticket/using point upgrade to CC?

We have (had!) reservations in November to NRT, booked in Y+A+A+Y. Was just notified from Amadeus (my account at CheckMyTrip. Have heard nothing from TK) of AC change and rebooking to all flights in Y. In other words very expensive economy cabin. Of course we will cancel and try to fing a good alternative aorline. The flights were not yet paid/ticketed, so I gather there will of course be no compensation. I'll surely miss their CC.

This is so sad. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find the actual official report/first post. Last I hear they were 'reducing' CC, now everyone's saying it's going completely??
Terrible news! Does anyone have a link to the evidence?

This is the reason I didn't book anything in Feb/March for Y+ in Oct/Nov because this has happened to me before (book something in Feb for Nov and equipment changed in late April); Usually the changes are made in the second quarter (April/May) of every year.

One solution, get to ICN instead.

Unfortunately though for someone going to NRT, this means getting from ICN to NRT on their own. Incredibly frustratingly, TK routing rules don't allow NRT & ICN fares to transit the other country on the way to IST, they have to be direct (or at least did last time I checked). This irritated me to no end back a couple years ago when ICN had a great A fare filed to ME/Africa but no way to ticket it because the routing rule required direct to IST while ICN was served by non-CC aircraft. TPE similarly used to have an amazing A fare to the same region, but that one did allow transit via HKG, PEK, PVG, or NRT so was usable... sadly most are gone now with the direct service to TPE and the few remaining are much more expensive than they used to be.

Death of Comfort Class?

I noticed that on TK flights to NRT (after 28 Oct 2015) and Los Angeles (after 28 Mar 2016), Y+ ('Comfort Class') is no longer offered.

On the Tokyo route it seems the B777 is being downgraded to an A300, which of course has no room for a 3-class configuration.

So does it mean that Y+ is being discontinued? Has there been any official announcement?

Needless to say, that would indeed be a shame.

By 2017 they will have eliminated CC from all planes. I believe certain North America destinations (JFK,LAX, TOR) still have it.
