Thanks, and to you as well izzik. I thought that's what it meant, but wanted confirmation.

Might be interesting for my wife, though. She has a machine-readable passport, but with her maiden name. It was amended, but the scanner can't pick up the amendment.

Not to be a stickler, you used Global Entry today. GOES is the signup system for all trusted traveler programs.

Got it. Used GE today in BOS and it worked like a charm. GOES worked like a charm when I was signing up.

The US citizens line wasn't that long because I was in business class and there wasn't another plane ahead of us as far as I can tell. Interestingly enough, it asked me if I was on BA 213, which I was. Did it know this from BA or just guessing from the time at which I showed up?

It knows from BA via various DHS linked systems.

Interestingly enough, on a recent LHR-ORD flight, I was MX'd twice in two days. The "substitute" flight number was a 4 digit number, not the typical 959/949 that accompanies scheduled UA LHR-ORD service.
The GE machine did NOT know that I was on flight 9XXX, but rather thought I was on my originally "scheduled" return, so I'm not certain at which point the data is updated. I had to tell it which flight I had actually been on.

It depends on the country/airline and how or when they swipe your passport if there is exit control and/or upload various systems like APIS with flight information (with the intra-government passport computer link). It varies to my knowledge.

The tenor you are complimenting here is a testament to the restraint of FT members to stay on topic and the skill of the moderators. General criticism of the CBP occurs in other threads of this forum, much of it by GE members. I hope such criticism continues to stays out of this thread, except where it is specific to GE. This thread was invaluable to me for acquiring and using GE.

I used the GE at ORD for the first time yesterday (my second experience overall). The new "four finger" fingerprints registered much better and faster than the one finger-only software that I used at IAD a few months ago. My entire transaction took less than one minute. The near-by officer at the crew booth asked to see my receipt, saying that earlier in the day it wasn't working right and he wanted to ensure I had a good receipt. It was.

After I picked up my suitcase from the belt, a roving officer came over to me before I reached the exit queue asking for my Customs form, and at the same time starting to ask if I had any meat, fish,... when she saw the GE receipt she said, "Oh! You've got one of those! You're good to go," and moved me to the front of the Customs exit queue.

So far, two excellent experiences with GE.

About to use the kiosks at IAD for the first time. Does IAD have a specially marked line like at DFW? Where will I go when I get off the people mover? Usually it's such a mess I want to make sure I get it right...

Thanks!

Just passed through a slow, shuffling regular passport line at DFW about 90 minutes ago. I haven't signed up yet, but am going to. They were promoting GE heavily, passing out the info brochure, with everybody in line wanting one. I suspect that the majority will not think it worth it when they find out it costs $100. But I sure do, and after reading the posts here, I'm more convinced than ever.

Cleared customs at JFK and the agents were clueless about GE. The agent insisted that I must have a cutoms declaration when I handed him the receipt. Finally he asked another agent which shrugged his shoulders and said he guesses thats what I turn in. He took it and I went on my way.
Also, my flight information and cities do no come up correctly. Even when putting it in manually I only have a handful of cities to choose from which I usually have to push none of the above. Is this common to everyone else or just me?

Did you perhaps make itinerary changes enroute?? The only time I have had problems was when I was MX'd out of LHR and the system didnt know what flight I was on.

Same here at ORD yesterday. Arrived at TSA line at 3:20, finally through FORTY-SIX MINUTES LATER. What bothered me the most was upon arrival there were about 8 agents working, at 3:45 only two agents were left working passports. Is that SOP, leave your station when you are needed the most?!?

Will look into Global Entry...
