Is Global Entry worthwhile?

Might be interesting for my wife, though. She has a machine-readable passport, but with her maiden name. It was amended, but the scanner can't pick up the amendment.

The US citizens line wasn't that long because I was in business class and there wasn't another plane ahead of us as far as I can tell. Interestingly enough, it asked me if I was on BA 213, which I was. Did it know this from BA or just guessing from the time at which I showed up?

Got it. Used GE today in BOS and it worked like a charm. GOES worked like a charm when I was signing up.

Interestingly enough, on a recent LHR-ORD flight, I was MX'd twice in two days. The "substitute" flight number was a 4 digit number, not the typical 959/949 that accompanies scheduled UA LHR-ORD service.
The GE machine did NOT know that I was on flight 9XXX, but rather thought I was on my originally "scheduled" return, so I'm not certain at which point the data is updated. I had to tell it which flight I had actually been on.

Just wanted to chime in here and add my observation that, in stark contrast to the overwhelming majority of other threads in this forum (aimed particularly at the TSA), the tenor towards GE, the CBP, and the officers and administrators behind it is remarkably positive and supportive.
This goes to show that the constituency is not simply dogmatically opposed to security screening of any kind, but instead, is in fact sympathetic to as well as supportive of the need to do so as long as the means and ends of doing so upholds reason, dignity, and efficiency in the process, very little, if any, of which is present in the TSA's past, present, and apparently future campaigns.

I used the GE at ORD for the first time yesterday (my second experience overall). The new "four finger" fingerprints registered much better and faster than the one finger-only software that I used at IAD a few months ago. My entire transaction took less than one minute. The near-by officer at the crew booth asked to see my receipt, saying that earlier in the day it wasn't working right and he wanted to ensure I had a good receipt. It was.
After I picked up my suitcase from the belt, a roving officer came over to me before I reached the exit queue asking for my Customs form, and at the same time starting to ask if I had any meat, fish,... when she saw the GE receipt she said, "Oh! You've got one of those! You're good to go," and moved me to the front of the Customs exit queue.
So far, two excellent experiences with GE.

Just passed through a slow, shuffling regular passport line at DFW about 90 minutes ago. I haven't signed up yet, but am going to. They were promoting GE heavily, passing out the info brochure, with everybody in line wanting one. I suspect that the majority will not think it worth it when they find out it costs $100. But I sure do, and after reading the posts here, I'm more convinced than ever.

Cleared customs at JFK and the agents were clueless about GE. The agent insisted that I must have a cutoms declaration when I handed him the receipt. Finally he asked another agent which shrugged his shoulders and said he guesses thats what I turn in. He took it and I went on my way.
Also, my flight information and cities do no come up correctly. Even when putting it in manually I only have a handful of cities to choose from which I usually have to push none of the above. Is this common to everyone else or just me?
